Dan Koster Monster Nessie

Here is a Dan Koster Monster Nessie I picked up. 1/4 inch 5160 with cocobolo scales. Sheath is one I made, not pretty, but it works. In hand pic to show how huge this thing is.

I have one too, and it IS one helluva knife. Kind of a combination between a competition cutter and a meat cleaver. My camera's battery is dead, otherwise I'd snap it.

I thought I heard Dan say it was 8.5 inches. I'm not usre though....

Overall = 13.75"
8.5" blade, 5.25" handle

if that blade is 8.5 inches, the it is one really wide blade, so it should have great cutting geometry

I just ordered one from Dan himself with a black/green g10 handle "will post pics when it gets here". I plan on trying it out on some coconuts and bamboo.

I have one with a natural (tan) Micarta handle. Excellent HT on the 5160, that thing really holds an edge. Makes short work of decapitating a deer's head...errrr..ummmm....in case the need for that ever arises. (don't ask.)
