My Dan Koster Nessie is one of ( if not the ) most used knives in my collection but I very rarely post about it !

The reason being that the thin handle slabs suck for prolonged use so it has become my fuzz stick maker and small tinder splitter and lives by my fire to be used every day during the colder months. It has done this duty for a few years now.

Now considering how many fuzz sticks etc I make this blade sees a lot of use and yet the only sharpening it's seen is the occasional strop on the bottom of a coffee cup. So impressed am I by it's edge holding I decided to make this little video today, I know that most peoples knives slice paper but do they do so after a few years of constant use with just the odd coffee mug strop !

very nice sir. thats pretty impressive. i have a bushcrafter of his that holds its edge very well also. he makes a good blade

It was you pit that pushed me to pick up one of Koster's Nessmuks...Dan makes some incredible blades (I have one of his first generation bushcrafters as well). My Nessy is a Scandi-grind and even though I haven't used it in a while, it's done a lot of smaller wood processing and all I've done is strop it on a loaded leather strop and it too continues to remain razor sharp.
