I'll let him give you the details on this beauty. I'll just say that I'm positively green with envy.

I'm going to see if I can get a slightly larger and clearer pic.

Thanks for posting this pic, Roger. Ok, here's the deal. This was one of the knives Burt submitted for his Mastersmith grading(which he passed; no surprise to anyone who has seen Burt's work).

Blade: around 10-11" of forged 52100. Ground nice and thin for such a big, honkin blade. Spine and underneath the ricasso mirror polished, while the flats are a really nice handrubbed satin finish.

Oval guard and ferrule: Damascus

Handle: one super sweet chunk of stabilized English Walnut with a single domed pin.

I love knives.I Really Love that knife!
congrats to Burt for achieving his MS stamp and Dan for the major score

Burt had a number of gorgeous knives on his table, but this was definitely one of the most stunning. Also the biggest - no surprise Danbo had to buy it. Burt's table was a regular stop for me during the two days I was there - in part to drool over this and his other knives - and in part because he's such a friendly and engaging guy. A real pleasure to talk to.

Danbo, I think you justified your trip to Atlanta, seriously  .

Burt, CONGRATULATIONS on your MS stamp!

Danbo, get that camera working, we want to see the rest of your loot!

Burts work is superb for those of you that have not seen it. I am sorry he moved east as I enjoyed his presence at the westerly shows. I AM gonna get me one!! :D

You gotta know that I am going to like this knife. Bowies with big meaty blades are my favorites and this one fits that genre perfectly.
