Danbo's camp knife coming along

How many minutes do you think Dan will actually own it before it, hmhuh, gets "moved on" to make room for others? ;)

Best Regards,

Excellent question Steve. Should we start a betting pool?

Nick, there has to be a twelve step program we can get you into so you can make knives for someone else!

How does Danbo get so many of Nicks knives? I'm jealous! I'm going to take my buckeye burl handled 5160 bladed Scandi knife by Nick and go cut something. :p

Man that turned out nice - no big surprise there. :) Love that blackwood.

Roger

Thanks guys-

Chuck and Steven, it better be at least 5 minutes, or I'll have to go to Belleville and kick his ass :p

Nick, you just come to Belleville. We'll talk about the ass kicking AFTER you help me get my Evenheat oven out of the box! ;) :D

You guys are right; I probably don't deserve this knife. But, since I ordered it, waited for it and paid for it, I'm sure gonna enjoy it when it gets here! :)

Oh, and don't hold your breath, waiting for this one to go on sale anytime soon. Man, those maroon micarta and stainless spacers are lookin good! :)

Nick,

You are getting really good with "Photo Shop".

Most people on this thread actually think, that you are building a REAL knife!!!! LOL! ;)

Best,

P

Gorgeous Knife all around.

I am even more impressed that Nick has learned how to take digital pictures AND post them.

No shock that the knife is perfect!

Wether Danbo deserves it or not, that baby is one sweet camp tool... and once again, I think it comes down to your mastery of the handle ergos that kicks your work up so much!

Danbo... how many in your collection now that are the same as the ones you showed me last summer??? :D And how do you wrangle soooooo many incredible blades from sooooo many smiths????!!!!!

That is getting as damn near a perfect "camp" knife as I have seen - I really like that touch with the spacers and the handle looks to be exceptionally well finished. Congrats to both. Now don't forget that Danbo's address has changed - I'll pm you the correct one Nick ;) :D

Lemme guess, it's somewhere in Europe, right? ;) :D

Thanks again everyone. Here are the two... Not exactly a matching set... but very similar :)

Go Danno!
Go Nick!

And please note, in the last photo, Nick's stag handled files.
Nick has more stag files than I do stag knives!

(I'm starting to hate them both ;) :) )

They both look like fantastic work,Nick. It is really easy to see me falling in lust for that handle style.

Thanks again for the kind words everyone :)

I can't believe the responses I've been getting from this thread and the one about Joss's knife.

I am working on a camp/hunter set... two of each, for our very own Stephen Foster and Roger Pinnock, and am taking many more photos as I go. One of the three of us will put them together into a thread like this (hopefully in a couple/few weeks!).

Thanks!
-Nick-
