OK all you guys!

I have finally saved a bit of money to buy a blade for some kind (As a "ME TO ME" Christmas present.). EVERY time I get my sights leveled and am in the process of dropping the hammer one of you snipers pick it off. ( I forget that a lot of the younger crowd her at HI don't have any firearms with exposed hammers, so my dialect may be somehow antiquated.)

I was in love with the CHAINPURI for about 3 minutes and then it got marked SOLD! (My friend SPECTRE loves the CHAINPURI style for all that IT IS and if it was good enough...I would have gifted it to him.)

The same went with the CHEROKEE ROSE with the Rosewood handle. In as much as I do not need this blade I was privileged to converse with THE MAN HIMSELF and out of respect and remembrance I wanted something, "OF HIM" f hat makes sense to you all. (If it doesn't...well then oh well.)

I am trying to write this without sounding too SNIFFY/WHINY/GIRLY

All I am saying is that if anybody is out there lurking. WATCH OUT! BIG DOG is off the CHAIN!

DIBBS on all the daily specials from now on until I pick over the bones!

LOL!

Merry Christmas everybody! All is fair in WAR, Love and Daily Specials!

Shane

Most all my firearms have exposed hammers so I speak the lingo and I yield to your quest for the perfect blade from you to you.

Even when I'm poor, it's fun to watch the DOD's and I've gotten to where I only cry for 3 or 4 hours after something goes that I can't have.

Guess I'm getting tougher.

Haha don't worry mate, I've been sniped and the sniper. If the blade is meant for you, you'll get it ;) good luck in the shark tank buddy :)

Hey old timer, welcome back. I love to hear stories from the "old" guys who had the honor of conversing with uncle Bill, Yvsa, and others.

Welcome back Shane, I can't think of a better "Me to Me" Christmas present than a new HI Khuk. What a wonderful idea, Of course I won't mention it to hubby as then maybe he wouldn't buy me one too :D

Now that you have grown your teeth, good sharking to you and I hope that whichever blade is out there searching for you to own it, hurries up and finds you. And I expect that once you have it inhand you will be posting pics and a review of the wonder it will be :)

Many exposed hammers here too friend, you comment did not fall on deaf ears ;). I snagged the 18in 19oz Chainpuri on Friday... I couldn't resist its "fighting" prowess, I needed it. Auntie actually posted a second Chainpuri that was a little shorter on Saturday. I think it still might be available but it doesn't hurt to give her a call and see what she has. She is getting new stock in and is making room as you can tell by the tremendous deals these past few days. Drop her an email... she might have a gem waiting for you.

yeah man do not hesitate to ask, and if worse comes to worse I will buy the next chainpur and hold until you show up again :D; we take care of fellow victims of the HIKV

FYI.... Hey Shane, there is a Chainpuri still available for sale from Saturday. I know you wanted one and its still there with no ems.

HI Everybody!

Tanks for taking this thread in a light hearted way it was intended!

You are all right when you say it will find me...eventually.

My thanks to Gehazi for the kind offer to purchase a blade on my behalf. It will all come together in a cosmic sense. I have long since quit worrying about the time/space continuum...and trying to affect it in my favor. Honestly once you get it warped to cause opportunity and chance to meld and flow, life becomes too easy. It is better to just let things be, and enjoy the ride.

Gerka Berserka, I was coveting that CHAINPURI....and the other is a tad small for me...I was looking for something in the 18 to 21 inch range...and yes I have sent an e-mailto the Kind Lady.

And a Big Thank you to those who remember my brief stint here. It is still one of my favorite place to be.

Happy Holidays!

Shane

P.S. I have always wanted to do a make-over on a Cherokee Rose. was thinking how gorgeous it would look with a stag crown handle, and of course it would need a beaded sheath. Actually, one of my greatest regrets was that I never was able to make a big knife for YVSA. I had the sketches made but my health was faltering slightly when it was time for him to pass on. I will always have that hollow feeling that come from failing a friend.

we all have regrets, most especially having to do with the quality people we have met and not recognizing it or doing enough when the time was right-- but that is the art of living, the contrast brings out the painting, without those pangs of regret we would never take steps to better ourselves or the world around us.

cherokee rose is a fine candidate for fancification, I still think you should try even if it is long put off :D

I personally think a stag grip would look right at home on a Cherokee Rose. It probably would look more at home that most wood grips. There is something about that blade style that screams "STAG GRIP". I have a couple sources for nice antlers, if you need a source let me know.

Shane, The key to sharking, is to watch for Yangdu to post the deals of the day, the refresh button is your sharking guide, watch for a while and see what time of day the deals come on, then park your shark and refresh till the posting, full speed ahead after the posting and look over the deals and email right away, if you want to be first swim by, you can and will get your blade. This always worked for me, OR, you can email Yangdu and she will really help you get the perfect blade at an outstanding price. Best of luck.

Dang! the longer I wait the nicer the 15 inch Chainpuri looks! I have always loved the carved wood.

I knew there was a reason you all were so fast with the refresh button and such. When I first started at HI I would have previously typed out a "DIBBS" notice so I could post it once the daily special, All I had to do was put in the description and paste it in.

Of course that was when everybody respected a post on the thread as LAW, written in stone. If a guy said he wanted it and then flubbed by changing his mind or realized he did not have the funds, that was like farting in church.

Over the years I have had so many knives that I thought were "IT". Meaning that this was the last knife I would ever buy. Honestly, I only own (3) knives that are, "mine". Two of those knives are made by top names. And the third is an HI.

Having said that, the HI is a , "Bahadur" (sic) (I think it means "BRAVE TIGER". My memory is failing and I cannot remember the exact spelling) I spent many long hours tweaking that knife, into what I consider to be an exceptional HEAVY knife. The blade is honestly the sharpest knife I have ever known. I hand finished the edged with wet/dry paper down to 600 grit. Usually I only got to 320 or 400, but this one just kept getting keener as I worked.

The buffalo horn handle fits in the traditional hold and also is contoured so the user can slide their hand further back to chop. Gorgeous!

It will shave my arms, neck and cheeks without leaving razor burn. S-H-U-W-E-E-T!

I hope the Cherokee Rose that is looking for me has the same outstanding HT!

G'night everybody!

Shane

Gee, I'm only 25 and I have a rifle with an exposed hammer. At least you don't have to worry about me, I am saving up for a $900 Katana and a $4000 1911.

Heya Halfsquelch, Alaskans don't count in the exposed hammer thing joke, Even the "city dwellers" up there actually know that guns and knives are tools so they are kinda throwbacks. Sounds like a couple of great goals and we expect pictures when you accomplish each.

So Shane, your knife has a form already. A Cherokee Rose has told you in your mind it is looking for you eh? I wonder if it is at Auntie's yet or if it is still in the mind of a kami. There was that Rose on a DotD a week or so ago, that had a nice light wood, If you squint at the picture you could imagine it as stag. So I know it will look incredible once you finish up with it. Can't wait to see the before, during and after pics of that one too.

I've been building custom 1911's for 20 years now. Let me know if you need any info or advice. I have a wealth of information, suppliers, and tricks of the trade.

Welcome back Shane j. Look forward to sharking with ya! Hope you find your Rose and Chainpure! Aunti Y may even have one in stock I bet she would be glad to oblige an old timer. They even made a few YCSs' not too long ago. Good luck. These newer sharks have gotten pretty relentless nowadays with technology and all. My achy cartilage has slowed me down but i still get what i need:thumbup:
CR would look cool in stag! I have a piece just for that but i need a blade:rolleyes:

Those D'sOTD are hard to snatch. A few years ago I noticed the same person (later on others) were always the first up and realized they were using computer settings to alert them to the DOTD posting. The refresh button can't compete with that:) Sort of like sniping sites people pay to bid on items at the big auction site (AKA getting beat by $1 in the last second). I'm convinced those programs now can figure out your max bid without actually bidding as well. Made me walk away from that site. Good advice here to check with Auntie if you really want something. She's helpful in the extreme. Good luck!
