Dang it! Old timer here.

Oh...before I trundle off to DREAM TIMES...There is something that cannot be said enough about HI!

There are very few personal items that I will actually order online....or even from the mail orders anymore.

How can a man buy a pair of boots from a catalog picture? Don't folks realize that one shoe in a box may fit and feel completely different than the mate next to it?

And try to send something back and then get a credit...in less then 3 days...and then how often do they flub that end of things?

Excuse me for saying it but EBAY be damned a man can only stand so much of modern day fancy dangle and smart phones and I tablets? How many of us started out with "TABLETS"???

Aw c'mon you know what I am talking about...honest-to-GOD tablets...the original..."BIG CHIEF"...there ain't no other tablets in my book!

And the first such "SMART BOARD" I knew was the one that could ruin an entire day when the teacher dragged her nails across it to bring attention to the unruly 2nd grade miscreants! HARD GREEN SLATE!...And when we practiced our letters we each had one to scrim and scratch upon.

My point being....this HIMALAYAN IMPORTS outfit is one of the few bidnesses I will order sight unseen. PERIOD. If it ain't right they will make it so. But odds are they gave better then they got.

We are lucky to have a small part of a business that produces such a unique product...and we are doubly blessed that Miss Yangdu STOOD while other, lesser people would have collapsed.

God Bless you ma'am...and thank you.

My family doesn't order often, but every sword, knife and curio is valued more than my feeble words and ideas can express.

I spent many an hour cleaning them green slate boards I did.

Still trying to grasp this new fangled white board that's all the rage now days.

Paper had been invented so we didn't have individual black boards but I had some at home.

Life is good, I think it was better then but it ain't too bad now neither.

I gotta have a little note pad to get gas of the pump now days, all the questions and pins and scan this and that, I'm not too good at this new technology stuff myself.

Aww dang it...

I apologize if I got up on my soap box and started preaching.

It comes from being a hermit. Don't play well with others.

SHutting up now.

Shane

I am a hermit. Playing with my knives in solace. Hermits unite lol and there's no better place for a soapbox than in a room full of friends :)

+1. One of the best things about this forum is that regardless of our other beliefs, so many of us feel the same way towards HI. I have very little trust in on-line businesses as a group, but HI has always been the exception that demonstrats exceptional high standards of customer service and customer care. Between that and the goals of making life better for the kamis that are the core of the business, how can anyone not step up on a soapbox about being an HI customer.

Also Hermitess wanna be here, At least as much as I can get by with in this world. I would never leave my own property if I could just find a way to meet my basic needs, Food, Water, HI blades, ammo... you know the real necessities of life, without doing so. Since my property is smaller and suburban I can't quite be completely self sufficient yet, But every year is a little closer as we work towards that goal. Still looking for the right piece of property to build my retreat from the world for once hubby and I retire. Need something that won't be over run by maroons, idjets, im-bull-sills and nin-cow-poops (to quote Bugs B Bunny) before I die off, but close enough that I can get internet so I can keep ordering HI blades ect. :D

Everybody has been so kind to me on this thread.

Since I have never actually seen the knife Miss Yangdu has sent to me, I do not want to decide to remove or destroy what may be exactly the tool I want it to be.

However, whatever I do decide to do, even if it is just make a new sheath...since I really enjoy leather work and I can still do it reasonably well.

Since this thread is not technically about a khukri or HI blade...when the tri-box arrives I will begin a new thread. I will describe what I want to do and will document it as best as possible.

Thank you All!

Shane

Another hermit here too guys and gals. I have my wife but we are pretty much one person now. I feel what she feels when she feels it an vice versus. We are "one" and we are hermits. I think thats the reason we here on the forum are such a close bunch... Being fellow blade loving introverts. You guys/gals r the best
