Danger!

You are serious...I mean about plastic? You are serious, aren't you? It was not a joke, was it?
I just need to be sure.
Yeah, I'm serious. I have a few old milk crates and I wouldn't go whacking my knife into one of them because I know would end up having to fix the edge. Also keep in mind that when you have something that's clamped, it's not going anywhere when you bump into it. That's one of the reasons why leaving a knife in a clamp with an exposed edge is so dangerous. If you bump into it, the knife is fixed in place and doesn't get pushed back, which would ordinarily diminish the force of impact significantly. The clamp doesn't allow it to move.

My knife edges are not affraid of some milk plastic. What sort of knives do you have? 😉
Mostly SAKs. Several stainless Moras as well. Mostly. I don't care much for carbon steel or any of the the so-called supersteels. Except for magnacut. But I haven't gotten around to buying myself a nice fixed blade magnacut outdoor knife yet. I generally buy inexpensive knives, I treat them well, and I stay on top of my edges. It works well for me, and it works well for my wallet.

A week ago I got Opinel No9 Carbon and this is my first plain carbon steel knife. I must say I like it. It has different soul as D2 steel or Inox steel.

I do the same... let's say my limit is up to $100. I personally don't believe in $600+ folding knives.
But low price (at least with my knives.... Petrified Fish and Opinels) does not mean low quality.
