What's the deal? A website where almost every item is Out Of Stock.

I'm doing my best to keep fixed blades in stock but they sell fast. My focus lately has shifted to folders and they are all gone before I post them.
I have been keeping some knives in stock like the Backpacker and wound up selling 150 of them already this year. I finally had to stop orders on them a couple of weeks ago so I can focus on Framelocks. I'm just a one man crew so my site is in some ways to show what I make... but I have to say you caught me super low on stock at the moment.

I'm in my fourth year of making knives and might need to hire some help to keep up with demand. I have only taken 5 days off this year as I really want to get everyone what they need. I really appreciate the support!

Those folders look really great! I've never used a blade that has been ground on one side. However, I've read good things.

150 Backpackers this year?! That's not a bad problem to have.

Hmmm, I don't know, maybe it's a reflection of how POPULAR this man's knives are! Have you seen his work? I am not fortunate enough yet to have one of his folders (and I am not really a fixed blade guy) but these are bad to the bone and very sought by buyers. Check out any of the other very talented makers' websites and see what the availability of their knives is. Quality like this does not always come quickly, and when it does, people jump. That's "the deal."

I feel that a chisel or single bevel grind can really perform especially when done well. Less bevels can mean less resistance while cutting. I like the main bevel to be on the side of the dominant hand as the cut more aggressively that way. I add a back microbevel as it increases cutting versatility and makes them easy to sharpen.

I couldn't sell all of those knives without the support I get from everyone... big thanks for that!

Just visited your website. Your S7 recurve is one awesome knife.
Thanks! That one is big but has very little footprint or weight, I designed it to be used in the field. A few are overseas at the moment and that means the most.

Big respect and much thanks! That keeps me highly motivated. :D

I really like the folder. Any plans to do them with other grinds instead of the chisel?

Thanks! I don't have any plans at the moment but I'm always listening to feedback.

Agreed. I have been spoiled by todays world of 'Instant Gratification". Not possible in a true artisans world.

Thanks for your gentlemanly reply to my snippy post. Apologies.

Daniel, I would love to see one with a hollow grind or compound grind. A well done hollow grind cuts great and stays sharp. Great job on the design and build.

Sounds good, I like it. I really appreciate a well done hollow that keeps it's geometry over many sharpenings. Thanks again for the feedback!

Amazing your RF-1 folders and the Tie-Dye is growing on me. Has anyone got one yet? Daniel, can you share your heat treat on the D2. You're U-tube on how you do stuff is Star Wars. I know for us new kids, it will be some time to have a chance to get to get one but it feels like Christmas, everyday!

Thanks Don!

So far I have 3 RF1's in customer use and am mailing these five out this week. They are finally getting out there and more will be in use soon.

Thanks on the Youtube channel too, I have lots of fun doing videos. I switched cameras recently and will get to making some more.

My D2 heat treat is somewhat standard but I go right into a sub-zero cycle from quench. These are CPM-D2 but the heat treat is the same. Here are the details...

- Preheat kiln #1 to 1250 for a decent pre-heat. I cycle the kiln at 1250 before the knives go in.

- Kiln #2 pre-heated at 1855 F - knives go in once pre-heated for a 45 minute soak.

- Plate Quench - I go straight to the plates for a few seconds, quickly cut the knife out of the stainless packet then go back to the plates. They come out very straight this way.

- Once the knives are plate quenched to where they can be held I cool them in water. I then go to a dry ice and acetone slurry for about 2 hours

- temper at ~405 F for 2.5 hours, water cool, temper at ~400 for 2.5 more hours, slowly cool in kiln.

If you have seen my heat treat videos you know I have an entire shop dedicated to heat treating. I even bought my kiln before my KMG and filed my first knives after using a $30 grinder! :D I really enjoy heat treating and testing.
