To me this is a really spectacular knife.....

OK, Keith - what makes this a "spectacular" knife? (I'm asking since I'm pretty much a newbie on technical matters, fine points of design, etc.)

To me, this knife looks fairly "ordinary" (and I don't mean that at all in a negative way).

Explain, please.

Great knives ! The reasons I think they are great are excellent fit and finish, flowing lines and I wouldn't cringe if I had to use one. Also, everything on the knife seems to belong there.
