I hereby announce my candidacy for President of the United States.

As president, I promise to:
Legalize marijuana and peyote for public consumption by adults 21 and over
Repeal politically-motivated and discriminatory gun and knife laws
Make illegal "athletic" scholarships (i believe it to be an oxymoron)
Nationalize health care at a basic level
Vastly increase security at the borders with Mexico and Canada
Impose heavy fines on companies that outsource labor to other countries

Whaddyall think of that

Open a chunk of the BLM land that Clinton closed to logging and hunting and you got my vote.

Bureau of Land Managment. Basicly Clinton set stricter limits, or simply closed quite a bit of the already managed land to hunting and logging. Logging is a big industry in oregon and this is one thing that has hurt our economy. That and I am a hunter and he cut off many fine deer and elk from the reach of my bullets.

I will run as opposed (though, if I garner enough support, we could meet in the middle...after all, you'll need a VP).

Decriminalize all drugs to those 18 and older
Pass legislation allowing punitive charges and court costs to be paid by those bringing frivolous lawsuits
Give those 40 and younger the opportunity to opt out of the Social Security Scheme
Repeal various stupid gun laws and Presidential decrees passed in the last 20 years
Remove all discriminatory laws, and enforce vigorously clear cases of discrimination
Reduce the voting age to 18
Remove all Federal welfare programs

I believe in free will and freedom of choice.
I believe in equality and blind justice and democracy.
I believe that American money and blood should only be spent when America itself is threatened, and then I believe that war should be fought with unadulterated, unyielding ferocity.

Let it be known that I am not running for President of NATO and caretaker of the world. I do not intend to look out for the interests of any nation other than the United States.

I will do what must be done to take the next step in technology. I mean specifically, making open all facts, films and physical evidence of Alien visitation to Earth. The rest of the world knows it, why should America be left behind?

Nice platform!

Now just raise about $300 million to finance a campaign and you might have a shot.

:D

I'll toss my hat in the ring with only one change...

Those serving (including myself) will be doing so as a public service only. NO elected official will EVER be allowed to make ANYTHING except a good name for themselves, present or future.

Campaign slogan: Let's see if altruism brings better government!

And change the health care industry to non-profit...
Here! Here!:D
Another must do....
Reimburse the ndns all the money lost by the BIA!!!! Restore the Black Hills to the Lakota. Free hunting and fishing for all the ndns in their original and ceded territories. And make it mandatory that the government has to prove that a person is not ndn instead of the other way around!:D

JACK CADE.
Be brave, then; for your captain is brave, and vows reformation. There shall be in England seven half-penny loaves sold for a penny: the three-hoop'd pot shall have ten hoops; and I will make it felony to drink small beer: all the realm shall be in common; and in Cheapside shall my palfrey go to grass: and when I am king,- as king I will be,-
ALL.
God save your majesty!

JACK CADE.
I thank you, good people:- there shall be no money; all shall eat and drink on my score; and I will apparel them all in one livery, that they may agree like brothers, and worship me their lord.

DICK.
The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers.

I find it interesting that many individuals, who call themselves "Conservatives" support socializing or at least strictly controlling the health care system. This position runs counter to the Republican platform and general Conservative principles. And, is diametrically opposed to the recent Bush administration ruling in favor of the HMO's in limiting malpractice suites.

This is the same kind of contradiction by "Conservatives" living off their Social Security or SSI check and calling such program proposals by "Liberals" Socialism.

It seems like social programs such as welfare are only "Liberal Socialism" if somebody else gets the benefits.

Vote for me and I'll teach that even from a prison cell man's special spirit can be free.

anyway you put it to profit like a regular business from people who require health care is wrong. A non-profit set up would be more efficent because the goal would be helping the sick and not making a profit. Like if a company today can make an AIDS treatment that costs someone $20K a year but can also make a cure that costs $100 what do you think is going to happen? Answer - a cure will never arise...

Doh! I meant drinking age. (It was late; look at the time stamp.)

I don't care if people are married to 14 other people, as long as they pay their bills, and it's consensual.

I repeat, my platform would DO AWAY with Federal welfare programs. The closest I would come would be Federally-sponsored job training, with the cost of
the training to be repaid on securing a job.

It will always be difficult to help the people left behind by capitalism's cycles and brutalities. A good people help those in need. A healthy society does that. Doing so encourages the unfortunate to keep their spoons out.

I agree that good folks help those in need. Government by nature are evil, and the less they are involved, the better...and the more money the people have to help others who are in need. (As opposed to the 3/4 of the funds devoted to welfare actually being squandered in the process, instead of going to people in need.)

John

Funds devoted to the process of funds devoted to the needy.

Our government is the process feeding off the aparatus that was the Government.

blaa blaa blaa
