Danny In Japan

That is quite the blade you had created.
I certainly like the tweaks.
I haven't gotten into swords, but you may have got me thinking I'm missing something by not having an HI sword.

From Yangdu: It is 29 inch overall length and weight 44 ounce. Villager fit and finish blade.
The spine thickness is near 3/8''

Wow, super nice Danny! Congrats! Swords are my one exception to the Chiruwa tang question (which I don't feel is always necessary on a kukri). The heavier tang really helps to balance the blade.

That explains the extra weight, as most of the original Tarwars were this length, but just 34-39 oz. or so.

I love the handle by the way. That is a great tweak to this model, and really well done. And it that a larger than normal guard? The sheath as well looks like super work. (I have to ask Yangdu about possibly getting one of these!)

Danny, just promise me, no green bamboo this time, OK? :D

Well I wanted a majushree-type guard, but this wider plate guard will certainly do. I asked for a German pommel and a slightly curved grip. This sword has to serve all my swording needs until I get my cisco certification and start making money again.
German costume piece, zombie decapitator and punkin cutter.

i took a cisco course last semester. i was lucky to walk out with a C. maybe networking isnt my thing. i might switch to programming.

I got this one in the mail today. I really like the handle, they did a great job on that, but honestly it feels just a little too heavy for me.
(( no selling on the forum , please)) I think I'll try again with another custom order.

Members should not be selling on the forum.
Please take this type of thing to the private correspondence of your choice.
Thank you.

Thanks for handling the selling issue so tactfully, Karda.

For those of you not aware, the house rules here at Bladeforums only permit selling by Gold or Platinum members in the Exchange forums.

Manufacturers and dealers have another set of rules they live by.

Spark has a post about the rules here. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/announcement.php?f=746&a=98 I haven't memorized them all but then again I don't sell things here.

The rules are strictly enforced. We owe it to our host to respect them.

In order to salvage this thread several selling-related posts were removed from the thread.

But my post didn't have anything to do with sales. I mentioned that I was surprised it was to heavy for Danny since he is 6' 5" or so.
Bladeforum policy is to NOT delete posts. I may have quoted the original post but that could have been edited out instead of deleting the entire post. :( You may want to review the mod rules in the Back end forum.

*** EDIT *** I conversed with Karda and discovered that I had made mention to prohibited activities in addition to the above comment. I apologize for the confusion, I know it can seem confusing to someone reading the thread with no background of being a Mod for the forum. I was out of line in my comment about reviewing rules and quite honestly surprised I didn't get an infraction. I apologize to the mods as they all work hard at a thankless job. ***END EDIT***

I'm well aware of BFc policy and our forum rules. The posts were moved to the backend and not deleted. I only removed the posts concerning the selling and buying.

Sounds like Ted was wanted to know why the possibly offending quote wasn't edited, thus leaving his unoffensive post on the Forum.

". . .moved to the backend and not deleted. I only removed the posts. . ." OK, is there a Moderator difference between deleting and removing that may be unknown to us non-Moderators? If it hasn't been "deleted", can his post be reposted sans the offending quote? I'm curious as I think that Ted's question was legit and I don't believe that it has been answered.

I apologize.

No problem, Danny. It's all good.

I do urge all our members, though, to read the BFc FAQ and follow the posted rules for the forums. Aside from that we have very few rules other than the "Golden Rule" (treat others as you would wish to be treated) and mind your language. Uncle says it best in this thread i've posted in the link library: Forum Rules and Philosophy Revisited

The matter has been addressed by pm and email to the parties involved. Teds posts did contain things that pertained to the sale and were removed with the rest of it, they will not be restored. Nothing is deleted at bladeforums, not posts nor accounts. As a forum moderator i have no power to do so, but i can remove them to the moderators forum to take them off of this forum. It was either remove affected part of the thread or do a bunch of editing and issue infractions/warnings to all parties. I prefer to not issue those if i dont really feel it's needed. It was a judgement call and i feel that i handled it in the best manner i could.
