All Birds of Prey are supposed to be turned into the Wildlife Conservatory for cataloging and disbursment to the ndns requesting feathers no matter how they died.Svashtar said:3 years and 3 months! That is just plain ludicrous. What about in the case of natural death or roadkill?
Leave it or call a Ranger for pickup. Yep, it's illegal.Svashtar said:What if you can across a dead eagle on the road or in the woods? Would it be illegal to take a feather off the dead bird?
Mainly because they just came off the endangered list and the Feds like to keep track of how many there are. In the case of Hawks and other raptors it's because they want to know who they have sent them too so as too keep track of who has legal feathers.Svashtar said:As long as I didn't "accidentally" shoot the eagle while out duck hunting and could prove it was already dead, why should they care?
Yep.Svashtar said:Like I said, laws and more laws...
Tnx.

Yep.Bri in Chi said:Holly sh*t, I once found a red tailed hawk tail feather and had it stuck in my truck sun visor for years. You mean I could have been sent to Leavenworth if a cop stopped me for something?
Yep.Bri in Chi said:What about the little yellow warbler feather in my fishin' hat? That's probably illegal because it's from a migratory bird.![]()
