Here's a look at a recent tour-de-force bowie by Jerry Fisk. I wish I could say it were mine, but Mr. Neaves is the lucky recipient of this beauty. I'll let him fill in the details.
I haven't even held it yet, I'll pick it up tomorrow. Fissssk sent these to make me hurt! I'm more patient than I used to be.
It's fossilized walrus, I picked it up at the Arkansas show several years ago. The guard, two of the three pieces of the furrel are S.S. along with the butt cap. The pattern is pool and eye, I THINK! I've e-mailed Jerry and asked him to give a few particulars.
Stunning - when I look at this knife it again really demonstrates Jerry's incredible eye for design, his ability to blend elegance, balance, and strength, into one stunning, yet supremely functional piece of "art" never fails to impress and inspire.
Congratulations, I would love to see the others in you collection.
The blade is just rain drop pattern forged in. Walruns ivory, and stainless mountings. The ferrule is two thin stainless on the outside with a chunk of etched wrought iron in between.
Patti, Naaman, and I went to Fisk's today. The pictures above DO NOT reflect how nice this bowie is. In the sunlight the 10" blade shimmers, it's like it is alive; even more so than the one on display at the museum in Little Rock. I must tell you, this is one of my favorites. The wrought iron is a nice touch and yes it feels like a Fisk. I am happy to say the least.
one, more thing: on the other side is engraved, NLT-05...it made me smile
If anyone needs me, I'll be in my chair looking at a knife!
