I had a couple of enquiries about splitting the set, as well as one about the size and embellishment. Here are my combined responses:

Both pieces are substantial, equally proportioned and have an OAL of 17" and the blades are 11 3/8 " tip to guard.

There is no engraving on the upper side of the guard, which in my mind adds rather than detracts - at first glance most people think they simple, elegant large knives, (with superb balance) then when they notice the engraved grotesques on the underside of the guards, their eyes always light up .....

The set, whilst made at different times, is an intentional one. I sent the carbon piece back to Tom and asked him to create its alter ego .... a dark twin if you will :)

Because of this I would prefer to sell as a set - and whilst they are both impressive pieces in their own right, their whole as a set is great than the sum of the parts - they look very impressive side by side. Again, because of this I would prefer to drop the set price slightly rather than split at higher individual prices ...... of course, if the offer is right then a split may be possible.
