Well I've carried a buck crosslock solitaire for a couple of years now and apparently I lost the thing yesterday. So, I'm looking for a new
folder. Requirements: Must be able to open one handed, must have a pocket clip, must be under 50 dollars. Must have a good sturdy blade. I may just pick up another solitaire but I thought I would see if you guys have any other suggestions.

A great value for around $55 is the Camillus EDC. You may also want to look at the Spyderco Endura. Both have better blade steel than the Buck and are well-made.

You need to look at the CRKT M16 line.

Above is the M16-04, at 3.8" blade, the largest. Aluminum handle, AUS-8 blade. It is going for $51 at knifecenter.com

This is the zytel handle version. M16-04z. $44 at knifecenter. It has double steel liners, where the first one has aluminum handles but a single steel liner.

They do. Almost all folders come with pocket clips these days.

The Camillus EDC is what I would go with at that price range. 154cm blade steel, frame lock, and a slightly recurved blade. I even think I know of a place you can purchase that supports these forums.

Hey mnblade,

I appreciate the suggestion. I should have specified I guess that I don't care for spyderco knives. I just like thumbstuds better then those holes that they have in their handles. This EDC does seem to be getting a lot of votes. How does its action compare to the solitaire? Is it easy to open with one hand?

Spyderco Endura if you want something larger

Camillus EDC if you want something smaller

I carry my Delica almost more than my Sebenza these days, which I think speaks very highly of its usefulness. I particularly like the sharper point.

Well... since the dude said he DOESNT like spyderco knives... I shant join the herd and suggest one.

Anything from the CRKT line would serve you well I think... and altho I dont own one, they seem to be great, and very well liked, so I think the Camillus EDC would probably be another good choice.
Kershaw also makes some one-handers with pocket clips that would be in your price range as well.

Sorry about your first knife... and good luck in finding a replacement.

Like others have said, the Camillus EDC would suit your needs. Mine opens buttery smooth and locks up tight.

Thanks guys, I think I am just about convinced about this Camillus EDC thing. It looks good and apparently works great. Thanks for noticing about the spyderco thing too Satin. :)

The Camillus EDC in 154CM is a good choice.
Another one not mentioned yet is the Benchmade Griptilian series. Seeing as you don't like blade holes, the version you might like would be the 551 (larger version) or 556 (around 3" blade version). Axis lock, very comfortable to use, 440C steel is excellent.
