Darrel Ralph Maxx Q Production Model

I just found out the new MaxxQ's will have two blade style options, finish will be either DLC or stonewash, tip up or tip down carry, assisted or manual, choice of scale colors and it will have Ti liners.

I am looking forward to seeing these!

Just wondering if anyone has any updates on the MAXX-Q line? I REALLY like the proposition of an affordable/attainable DDR.

Thanks,
Gibby

After reading the positive comments I did buy one ( new) . I was going to post a review but I never got a chance.

To make a long story short, I'm going to contact the maker about correcting a few QC issues. Overall the design is fantastic, but a few things got past QC.

Here's a few pics

Thanks JDP. If you don't mind keep us posted on it's performance.

I can't even find one listed for sale. Some prototypes were put on the market and gobbled up. Beyond that, I can only think they're still tweaking the "second" version.
I have signed up for Darrells newsletter again, (since I haven't recieved one in 4 or 5 months, thought maybe I'd got dropped off) and left a message asking about the "Q". Haven't heard anything yet.
I'm hoping we'll see the changes quoted by cybrok on his review, based on his conversation with DDR...

The new version will be coming out soon.

It will have aluminum handles.

Made in my shop.

It will have my ARMOUR texture on the handles.

I will offer this blade and a bowie style also.

It will be available assited opening.

BUT - This review was dated May of '08. I'm just ancy I guess.
When I look at alot of the "Factory" makers putting out folders in the $200-$400 range, the proposition of a "Q" in the $200ish street price seems to sunny the skies a bit.
