I have been trying to reach him for sometime now. anyone having any luck getting him? he is not returning calls????

if so tell him to call me at 910-988-1160.

Daniel, last I heard (and that was back in the Spring) was that Darren went through a huge amount of problems, with some family members in the hospital and his basement (supply storage room) getting flooded. Couple all this with he and his wife working on finishing their doctoral degrees.

i just went to his website i had in my saved website section and looks lik e the site is down and i also got hit by a high risk virus at the same time, so either his website is compromised or its not there or its a new website

I haven't been able to go to his site for some time now. I get intercepted by my security settings and get this Google advisory:

-------------------------------------

Reported Attack Site!

This web site at elliscustomknifeworks.com has been reported as an attack site and has been blocked based on your security preferences.

Attack sites try to install programs that steal private information, use your computer to attack others, or damage your system.

Some attack sites intentionally distribute harmful software, but many are compromised without the knowledge or permission of their owners.

I can browse to the site, looks like the last update was posted on the 20th of October, so he's been working since the spring anyhow.

Yes Daniel, we are still in business. If you called over the holiday weekend (out of town), then there's your answer as to why you didn't get a call back. I'm not in the shop today so haven't checked the phone.

It's the end of the school semester here, so things are going to get super busy here for us the next week and a half, so I'm closing shop for the rest of the week so we don't get overwhelmed with orders....all orders placed before today, are either going out or have already gone. I'll post the dates we'll be closed on the front page of the website....this just makes it easier for everyone, I don't like being behind on things, so if people are in a hurry for something this week, they'll know there will either be a delay, or they may want to get it somewhere else this week.

Also, to address the virus thing about the website....I scanned the website, and am unable to find a virus on there. I am under the impression now that google has unduly classified the site as having a virus, which it doesn't as near as I can tell....they have a lengthy process that you have to go through to get off of their list....I'm working on it...

:)

Thanks for the update Darren. I'm sorry I didn't email you about the virus alert. I thought it might be something like that. I'll see if I can tell my PC's security settings to pass your site on through. All the best with semester's end and the holy days that follow.

Hi Darren,

Here's what google had to say about your site. Note it claims to have found malicious software as recently as 11/30/08. I highlighted it in red. (It also refers to your site as hightemptools.com.)

Wierd. I can get on the site and the firewall and stuff here at work is crazy. Interesting.

Hey Darren and Kathryn,

Glad to see you two are ok and busy. Finishing a PhD can be an gigantic
task, and the end of a semester is always a crazy time. Did it for 34 years.

Shutting down the business for a short time is a good idea, it helps to promote sanity. Most of us who deal with you know that every once in a while you need a break.

Keep up the good work.:)
