I HAVE A MARBLES SPECIAL HUNTING KNIFE WITH GREEN CANVAS MICARTA HANDLE BOUGHT NIB ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO. IT HAS MARBLES, GLADSTONE, MI ON BLADE. ANYONE KNOW WHEN IT WAS BUILT AND WHAT STEEL IT WAS MADE OUT OF?
They reintroduced Marbles knives in 1997. The steel used up until about 2001 or 2002 was 52100 high carbon, ball bearing steel. It's carbon and will stain and rust if not cared for properly.

Have a look at Marbles' website to find out more about the high carbon and stainless alloys they use. I think the current high carbon is 50100B/C, similar to (and very possibly exactly the same) as Carbon V and the steel Camilus uses in their Becker line. Good stuff, in other words!
