date? - BUCK 110, 2 dot, 4 pin, scale "grooves"

Thanks David. For some reason, I'm having difficulty determining if those are large or small pins. If large, you're correct 1978 to 1980.

The heads of the three brass pins measure 2.5 mm in diameter, if that helps.

I seem to remember this:
"Large" pins are nearly the same size as the pivot pin
"Small" pins are roughly half that size.
"Tiny" pins are the same stock as "small" pins, but they're not spun (headed) so they're... tiny

FWIW, the pivot pin on my 1977 110 measures 3.0mm and the pins measure slightly over 2.0mm.

Heck I don't know who's correct. I merely thought that when I looked at it.? You're welcome. DM

Well... I can't seem to find a better photo of a "tiny" pin, but here's the best one I have.

Large pins on a 4-dot 110

Small pins on another 4-dot 110

Tiny pins on a right hand stamp 110 (I thought I had a better photo of the pins on this one)

TAH TAH , your match safe is so exceptional... Thanks for putting that with it. A handsome 110.
MT_Pokt MT_Pokt , I didn't think Buck used the small pins by the time the 4 dot blades came along...
Nor that divot sheath for that time frame. Still, good photos. DM

I looked and apparently I do not have photos of the tang stamp from that particular 110 so I am more than likely wrong about it being a 4 dot blade. The photos are in my "4 dot" 110 folder so I assumed. Good catch!

Here's another "small" pin on a 3-line (no dot) 110.

Well........what I want to know is........how many angels can dance on the head of a "tiny" pin?

And what I do know is that I want one of those beautiful brass match safes........it's magnificent.

Thanks. K&M Matchcase (they have a website). The compass has changed due to sourcing, but the matchcase quality is the same. They used to offer lightweight aluminum cases too, but not anymore.
