Can anyone shed some light on dating customs by their blade markings? I have seen three different specwar marks, 1- Emerson Specwar Knives, 2- Emerson Specwar Knives with a serial number, and 3- Emerson Specwar Knives with a year date. Yes, I know the mark with the year date tells us when it was made, but how do these different marks relate to each other?

Let's not forget "Halfmoon" logoed customs. "E M E R S O N" in a small arch. The halfmoon was Ernie's original logo. I'm not sure when the move was made to the "Specwar" logo. If I had to guess (mind you guess only), I'd say the change was made around '94.

The only serialized customs that come to mind are the set of "Japanese" Fulldress, right hand grind, Damascus, Viper bladed CQC6s. Anyone think of any others?

The earliest, dated "Specwar" logo I have seen was '98.

Hope this helps.

John,
I was mainly interested in the different Specwar markings. Check out "Handgunner" magazine March/April 1998 page 74 for a picture of a CQC6 with a serial # under the Specwar mark. Also, when was a "registard trademark" logo added to the Specwar mark?
BTW, the photos you have been posting on various web-sites are great, keep up the good work. All we need now is a Gallery Site for Emerson customs!

WOW what a disappointment...... I thought this was a thread about DATING Emerson customs,, like I would be glad to take a CQC9 out to dinner, perhaps some wine and before long SHE's MINE!!!!

Yeah but azwilly

Could you imagine the hickey she would leave on you. Not only that, just pray you don't make her mad. We thought Lorrena Bobbit was bad! Think of the punishment any of the customs would dish out on an unfortunate unfaithful unsuspecting male.
