I just wanted to get on here and let as many people as I could know how amazing this small business is. Dave Curtiss has to be one of the nicest people I have ever talked too,he cares about his product.but even more about the customer and he is an amazing maker with amazing knives.
I bought a used Curtiss F3 off eBay and it was really beat up when I got it . The pivot screws were stripped, the blade had Knicks, the knife is just beat up clearly due to user .
I sent it in to get all these problems fixed knowing I would have to pay for new pivot screws, prob blade, and I wanted a new back spacer. Dave covered all of this and is doing more free of charge!! I couldn't believe it. His knives are amazing and he takes such good care of his customers. This is one of the best experiences I have ever had dealing with a business.
If anyone else has had a awesome experience with Dave please post and tell. I wish and pray nothing but the best for Dave and His business Curtiss Knives. I will be buying more of his knives I promise you that.

Here is a pic of a couple of knives I bought of his. Thanks and again please comment if you have any similar stories.

Dave does make excellent knives! I own 6 of them! By far my favorite knife/maker. I have not sent a knife into Dave for work yet but every time I call him he seems like he takes care of his customers.

I have had one thing to mention though. I bought a Curtiss F3 Medium Wharnie used. When I received the knife it was missing the top Pocketclip screw that also goes into the Titanium backspacer. I called up Dave and asked him if he could replace it. He said no problem just send a picture of the screws cause he has different screw heads and lengths. So sent him pics and he told me he had some available. I asked him if he wanted me to pay for them, and... nothing. A month goes by and I get a text from Dave asking what my mailing address is. So, I send him my mailing address and still nothing. That was back in late may/June. Still no screw.

I have since sold the knife and wouldn't do much good now even if it magically showed up. I'm guessing he just got swamped and forgot about me. Partially my fault I guess, I should have called him to remind him. I just figured he texted me a month later asking for an address. He must not have forgot to easily.

I'm on the look out for a spanto F3 Large. I'm excited to see what he is capable of producing. I've heard nothing but great thing.s

W Cole I know you got some awesome Curtiss knives. So weird about Dave not getting the screws sent. That does not seem in character with him at all. I am sure you all ready know this though.
Yea I want a few more of his knives and I will be happy.
Also after reading my first post don't just pray for Dave pray for me...to learn how to comprehend grammer:) Thanks for the shares

Well, with him having to make new knives, refurbishing customers knives, deal with a water jet company and completely re-do his website; I completely understand my screw getting mixed up. Like I said, partially my fault.

Glad to see in 2017 he's dropping most of his water jetting stuff on the side and focusing on just knives.

Just a update on my knife I sent to Dave. Well it ended up that the F3 I sent to get fixed was so beat up instead of Dave fixing my knife which he said "because it is such a old knife and so well used it would take up too much of my time to try and make new"
So he just ended up sending me a new knife!! I seriously am so impressed with this company. Dave already had a customer for life. But this just enforced that reasoning.
Here is a pic of the new knife. Top one for those new to the knife world:)

Ordered a Nano flipper priority express to Australia. Original knife disappeared. Let David know and he sent a replacement straight away. Turns out the original turned up a day after the replacement so I sent that one back. Excellent communication the whole time

Just purchased a F3 Wharny Thursday (1/5/17) and asked if I could have some parts anodized and asked that he just let me know the cost. About 10 min after ordering the knife, he sent me a picture of the flame anodized hardware I requested, made sure I liked they way they came out, and refused payment for the modifications. The knife is coming today, very excited, and he has earned a repeat customer.

David Curtiss is one of the best in the industry, bar none.

I recently got my F3 Large Wharncliffe, and what a knife! I'm glad to hear the quality of the knife reflects the quality of the maker!

I'm actually looking at purchasing a knife directly from David (got my F3 on the secondary market) and am wondering if anyone can tell me how I can look into the different milling patterns/anodizing work he will do?

All this positive stuff about Dave is awesome to see. The guy is a class act.
