Dawn Dish soap about an inch in a spray bottle with it half full of water. It suffocates them .And it's not flammable.

I used to use the diluted dish soap method and it works okay on small numbers, but it is too slow for me. I quit using that after I got stung multiple times trying it on a yellow jacket nest. That's when I switched to ether. Flammability is not at all an issue if you don't introduce flame and it evaporates extremely fast to where it isn't still flammable 10 minutes later.
