As I write this I sit in great anticipation for the delivery of my second one off full custom David Clark folder.

My first "Clark Blades" came in many months ago named the Fortitude Prototype #3. Mr. Jim Skelton has Fortitude Proto #1 and made a great video on his YouTube channel about it. My has bronze ano'd Ti bolsters and liners with Thunder Strike Kevlar scales. I have a few flippers that cost four or five times the amount I paid for the Fortitude, but they don't function as near as smooth.

Tomorrow my second knife from David should arrive. "The Keeper" is a knife David and I designed together, with David having the makers final say on most design ideas. I'll wait till I get it and can post a few pics before I try to describe it. Lets just say its a beautiful Damascus folder with a lil Ti, Mokume, and paper micarta.

The main reason of this post is to tell all my fellow BF members how cool and down to earth David is. He answers emails and is truly passionate about making you the knife you want at a fair price. He has been making for less than two years and gets better and better with each knife he builds. Get a spot in his book before he closes it, you'll be happy you did.

I could not possibly agree more with the above sentiment. Just as my worst customer service experience ever was with...AchooMedford!...excuse me...darn allergies...my absolute best was with David Clark. From the beginning concept, he worked 1-on-1 with me and the end product (which I will be reviewing soon on YouTube) was/is, by far, the best knife I've owned. We truly designed it together and my/our collective vision became a reality. Plus...it is just so freaking cool to have a knife that is legitimately numbered 1 of 1 and was done without the use of CNC machine work, etc. Whether I was calling or texting, he was usually available and was always quick to respond when he wasn't. David Clark of Clark Blades is one VERY talented, thoughtful guy with a heart of gold and I truly hope he is able to enjoy the success he so completely deserves.

I'm choked up guys. David and I have become good buds over the past 18 months. We worked together on the Fortitude and now the Keeper. We talk about knives and ups and downs of being a father and husband. David knows the rough year I've had going through spinal fusion and now a forced medical retirement. The package arrived today and it had 2 knives inside. I was taken back I have to be honest. I thought it might have been a packaging error so I called David. Apparently one of the knives was a retirement gift from David. This guy is great!!

Thank you David, you have been a class act from start to finish. Only sad part is I have to wait another year or more for my next knife. The communication and works in progress pics were top notch. The finished products are superb. I put you right up there with my buddies Jake and Kirby as far as your class and finished work. I look forward to having a few cold ones with you in Las Vegas in the end of August.

The Custom Keeper is my new Grail and the EDC version will be a hit.

(Here are the first 2 pics that my crappy phone loaded.)

Alright guys...here is the Custom Keeper David made. The blade, back spacer and pocket clip are damascus. The liners are ano'd blue polished Ti as well as the pivot. The bolsters are mokume polished and then given a patina. The scales are polished paper micarta and this knife flips great. Overall great experience and I'll get off my soapbox. Very impressed with this guy. Thanks

David is an amazing guy. Im about 2 months out from getting my fortitude and I can't wait. He is an amazing guy and I enjoy talking to him whether its changes to my k ife or just shooting sh!t, he a kind, humble guy to talk to. He wants to make his customers happy and is willing to try new things and look up materials. So far the only no I got was on vanax 35, hed have to buy a $400 piece and to make one knife isn't cost effective for him (ask for vanax, maybe then he'll get it, lol). Everything else hes more than happy to oblige which is refreshing instead of hearing no all thd time. He let me made small changes here and there, tweak the design a lil, order acsteel he hasn't worked with before but he's willing and interested to try. David is the kind of maker you're happy to spend money with, he wants to build you your perfect knife and give you fantastic customer service doing it. Im really glad to pick him as my first custom made to order knife, I know its going to be great and I enjoy dealing with David in the mean while. Get on his books before they close and he has to raise prices. He gives the best bang for your buck by far.
