Just wanted to share my thoughts on this knife.

I got tp play with this again today. I am really enjoying this badboy. The handle is bigggg. I can get a hand and a half on it if I wanted to take a real power swing. This big boy is 3/16th of pure beast. It takes deeper bites than anyother chopper knife that I have used and does not get wedged. The edge came scary sharp as all of David's knives do, and with that it can take out a
2" diameter sapling with 1 well placed hit. David doesn't like to make leather sheaths, but I have some of his leather on other knives and its good. However, I had Ilbruche make the rig for this as you already know.

This isn't the prettiest knife in the world and the style may not be for everyone, but it functions superbly. I may round the handle out a bit more so its more comfortable but other than that I couldn't as for a better knife. Fit and finish are not great, but good; plus for what David charges for his knives they exceed all my expectations.

Oh well enough of my babble, here are some pics.

They sure as heck look good in when in that sheath. That looks like a superbly functional combo, as does the Koyote combo.

Now - lets see ya turn that end piece into a spoon :thumbup::thumbup:

Alright man now lets see a review of that smaller blade.

Davids big blades are impressive. For the price I don't think you can find a better tool. I have one of his prototype goloks coming to me that I"m looking forward to playing with. It's a model he didn't like, but I found it appealing. It's 1/8" unlike the 3/16" beast Tony has.

I liked both of these set ups when you first posted them. They look like good work horse and functional for big blades. That baldric carry rig by ilbruche are the bomb for sure to. That set up is something I can definately work with in my neck of the woods!

Both those Farmers look interesting. The first one as it is looks peachy. The bigger second one has me wondering how well it would work with the type of canted handle found on the old OSS machete [the one that looks like the Burmese Dahl sword].

David is a great guy on top of an excellent maker. Expecially if you like carbon steel and convex grinds. I'm proud to know him, and we've sorta watched/helped each other along the way. Good people!

Have you done a write up on those Koyote blades?

Not sure bro. But here's a quickie.

They came hair popping sharp, the big guy can cut 1 1/2 diameter stuff with ease. It is light and very fast. The handle is as comfortable as it is pretty. It balances so well and since its 1/8 th thick I have no problem doing fine work with it as well as chop. And yes it can chop! Oh yeah, I batonned some big heavy duty wood with this and it got through when bigger thicker knives couldn't!

The Lueku bushcrafter is one of my favorites, very thin and tuff, not to mention sharp. Good strong point. Handles all knife chores with ease.

Thanks! I have been lusting after Koyotes blades for awhile.

Tony those pictures have me licking my chops. I can't wait to get my hands on those farmers. I got a Paduka Bushy coming my way too from D.Farmer.

There are not many knives that impress me anymore but that set up makes me drool. Beautiful work.:thumbup:

The Bushcrafter is 8 1/2 overall with a cutting edge of 4' Steel is 1/8th of 1095 with about the sharpest convex you've ever imagined.
