When civilization collapses and modern society is reduced to primitive hunter/gatherer tribes, the survivors will be forced to reclaim any and all resources possible. But why wait? You can have a complete set of kitchen knives, built from scavenged steel, delivered straight to your door!
This knife set consists of all you see here:

1 large slicer/chef knife, made from a reclaimed machete (probably 1075 or 1080 steel or an equivalent) with an 8” blade, 5” handle, and purpleheart handles. The steel is 1/16” thick.
1 small petty/chef, made from forged 1095 steel, with a 6” blade, 4 3/4” handle, and bocote handles. The steel is between 1/16” and 3/32” thick.
4 paring knives, made from broken saw blades, with 3” blades, 3.5” handles, and osage orange handles. The steel on these is 1/32” thick.
1 saex paring/utility knife, made from a broken saw blade, with a 3” blade, 3.5” handle, and osage orange handles. The steel is 1/32” thick.
I bought all of these individually from David Farmer. All have been used extensively in my kitchen, so they have patinas. The edges are all razor sharp, and other than a couple VERY small nicks on a couple of the paring knives, they are all in perfect usable condition. Surface scarring on the reclaimed steel blades and some epoxy around the handles is part of how they came from the maker.
