Thanks Flat . Guys if you got one of these be glad as they work great for skinning . Its lighter than the 110, handle material sticks to your hand like micarta, the blade cuts like a lazer and the sheath is stiffer made of thicker leather than my others . I really enjoyed using this model today . I think you guys will too . Thanks BCCI & Buck Knives . DM

Yes, the paperstone is a great blade. Looks to be a good time hunting! If I look right that is the BCCI version isn't it. Nice! I need to get mine out more.

Now I'm hating you since the pic was NOT taken in the frozen north which I now sit in:) Would be a block of ice in no time dressed like that here.

Looks like a great Christmas Day! My thoughts on that knife as well:D

Thanks for the picture! I don't have the knife, so I can't comment there, but that is a nice coyote! With a shotgun no less!!!! Do you stalk them or call???

Jim, Both . Anyway I can get a shot . This one I saw hunting while feeding the horses this morning . Went to the house got my shotgun and stalked into the area I'd last seen him . I was standing in the shadow of a jumiper tree when a doe come out of a thicket and wasted no time going into a bigger thicket . The wind was light but swirling and I thought, O-no they got my scent and the gig is up ! Just then the coyote exited the thicket and was headed in the same general direction as the doe when a 3" magnum load of BB's caught him unaware and folded him up at 60yds.. My wife had been complaining that one had been hanging around the chicken pen for a week or so . Glad I kept her happy . Thanks Jim . DM ;)

Thanks, Ohen . Our winters aren't normally this mild but I'll not complain . ;)

Thanks Scott my sentiment as well . With this one things fell into place in my favor . If I told you how many times prior they didn't and I never saw him again or nothing showed while calling you'd know its disappointing . But somewhere around 20 ! DM

Thanks 338 . They'll make a living off me or you or the next neighbor . They're not picky just opportunistic and try to get the meal as easy as they can . DM

Thanks Scott . You'll not believe this but I bought that Remington 1100 Magnum when they first came out in 1977 chambered for 3" shells . I've used it for everything from Trap competition to Goose hunting during those 30 odd yrs.. I've replaced a few parts, refinished the stock and procured other barrels for it but its still the only shotgun I own . I try to teach my kids value and take pride in your equipment . DM

I saw a coyote called for my first time just the other day on one of those outdoor cable shows (winter in Montana, I think it was). I couldn't believe my eyes. The male seemed to run hard at the call, a female wimpering noise. I never saw the calling device, description of technique or the actual call. I wondered if trick photography was involved as the quick success of the call was unexpected.

Great story. Good to know that coveted knife holds water in the field. Thank you.

Can you also hold a deer up with your left hand?

Thanks Oregon . I doubt if I can hold up a deer using both hands . Theres a lot of tricks to calling animals . Those good at it seem successful more often or we just don't hear of their failures . DM

Thanks Bucksway, I really like it too ! We became friends--I think we'll go places . ;)
My wife keeps a bird feeder out for song birds and quail and these birds are quite fragile . Last year being a hard winter we noticed after each storm's snow melted, coyotes, would come scurrying about this area and clean up the dead birds or rabbits . Just natural clean up . DM

My family usually has ham on Christmas....I guess the southwest has different traditions. Good job David! Nice knife too!

We have hunted the same area out of Prineville for quite a few years, for deer and elk, and have called them in a couple times, when we were cow calling for elk. A distressed cow, or calf seems to be the one they come to

Tony, Thanks . I draw the line at fried frog legs or turtle soup . Don't think my wife would allow me to put this in her freezer ! But the Ravens, fox and raccoons will have
supper . 338, Yes I've called them in with that call as well . But when bow hunting you never get a shot . DM

I wonder how it would taste? Actually serious, have any of you ever tried coyote meat?

I've eaten a lot of other smaller stuff and it was o.k., was curious.

I've found almost anything is edible if you make chili out of it.
