David has made various materials work together well on his knife handles. His composite handles are cool, IMO.

Pasta panini PB&J with relish and sour kraut, please and thank you.

I just voted for this , just because you suggest it ! ;)

Grip-Tec™ has surpassed Suretouch (and Ameragrip) as my favorite handle material for user knives. If you want the best possible grip, these three are the materials. But why do I like Grip-Tec better than the other two? Because it's lighter in weight, and the rubber component is more uniformly distributed through the material, resulting in less need to strategically shape the handle to expose rubber, compared to Suretouch and Ameragrip, where the rubber is layered.

As a counterpoint to my comment about making a grippy carbon fiber knife, interestingly, if I wanted to I could also make a relatively slippery Suretouch handle, by maximizing the G10 surface area exposed instead of rubber. Can't do that with Grip-Tec™.

But it doesn't look like it will matter. We seem destined for a stabilized wood and Micarta mash-up.

But DocJD DocJD even though Grip-Tec™ is significantly more expensive than a lot of other materials, and even more expensive than Suretouch, I will make your Prevalini you have on order with some at no extra charge (unless you want me to stick with wood). I just made a note in the order book that you have the option. There. You just won a give away. ;)

You are the very best maker of knives in the known Universe ! 🥰

And yes , of course , I would love to try the Grip-Tec . Does it come in some orange / reddish color ? 😃

I don't dislike either , but for a carry knife, for me , functionality must rule .

A very small knife , is usually kinda "grip challenged " ,and needs all the help it can get . IMO .

Plus , trying new things , I truly believe , is important ...especially for an old geezer like me . ;)

So , I'm very happy to try out some Grip-Tec ! ☺️

I do prefer , on a working , outdoors kinda knife handle , to have some bright , hi-vis colors .

Can always add a lanyard , fob or wrap , but nice to just have already incorporated .

Helps to find the knife if dropped or misplaced ; but, also : I just like bright cheerful warm colors ! :p
