You know, the Princess Bride movie (never read the book) makes Prince Humperdinck out to actually be pretty awesome, if only he weren't an evil and ruthless scumbag and coward. If he weren't so selfish, I think he would actually have been a GREAT leader. Think about his depth of planning and strategy, not to mention his impressive, nearly psychic abilities as a tracker, as displayed when he was able to discern the duel of Westley and Inigo after the fact, by the terrain alone.
 
So the sump pump basically died. Chris brough over another one he had sitting unused at his place. This one is bigger, and probably designed for a larger sump well than the one here at the house. So it took a "good" amount of finagling to get the float to disengage at the bottom or engage at the top. Most of yesterday and today, no matter what we tried, it was only doing one or the other. Thanks to Chris' kind efforts today, it is now running correctly, and I don't have to babysit it.
 
Great! Is this transformation going to include this new barely readable font on an ongoing basis? Fill me with hope and trust all at once why dontcha!

Mom just left for the evening. Before she left I made a point to let her know how happy I am to still have her. We both miss Dad very much. He passed just over five years ago, but it still feels like yesterday.
