Thanks for the info. I did find the 704 after doing a search here on past threads. I forgot to check that before asking.
 
Actually, the first 700 series knife, a 703 Colt was introduced in 1980. The other models followed soon after. This series had a long run. You can find an in-depth article I wrote on the 700 series in the June 2003 newsletter.
