John Roy,

Nice to make your acquaintance sir!

That is a nice way to introduce yourself for sure. Thanks for bringing Dawson Knives back up on my radar. I have owned one and handled a few others. Quality kit for sure.

After scanning your website. I think I will be taking advantage of your generous offer. Now the question becomes which one? Or more appropriately, which ones? Some many nice models to choose from.

I think, I have it narrowed down to three or four, I think. One at at time. Which makes your offer even more appealing.

The Outdoorsman Camp Knife,
Looks like a nice size general woods tool. 6" is big enough for most, if not all of what I need done in the woods.

Same for the Explorer. I will have to think about which one will suit my shelter building, camp, woods needs.

I really like the look of the Huntsman with the wood scales. Seems like it would be a great everyday carry, versatile, do anything blade. Plus it is just beautiful.

But the one that tugs at my heat strings the most is actually the War Dog. That one just rocks my boat. Last year after reading several posts on several different forums. Basically discounting the original, as not much good for anything. I took it upon myself to spend some extended time with one.

The results were eye opening. I posted a long term review here in the appropriate section. Cooking, tri-pods, chairs, fire prep, shelter building, you name it this knife did a wonderful job.

The War Dog appears to take that to the next level. A beautiful rendition of an already great knife. A knife that deserves more respect than it receives. I found it extremely capable as a woods/camp/fieldcraft knife. So the War Dog is just screaming out to me.

In truth, there are too many excellent choices on your site. It has that kid in the candy store feel to it. Thanks once again for bringing these back onto my radar.

Thanks once again for stopping by, and saying hello with a very nice get to know us offer.
Walt,

P.S.
Any chance for a hosted knifemaker's section here if things go well? It seems to work well for those who are serious about their knifemaking, mas you folks obviously are. Plus it gives owners and users a centralized "Home" so to speak. I am sure there is a Yin/Yang to it like most things in life. Just a thought.

Walt, thanks for the welcome! We're definitely working on getting a hosted knifemaker's page up and running for Dawson Knives, just ran into a few technical difficulties. Look for it in the next couple of weeks!

You sir have some excellent taste! Honestly all of your choices would answer the need, (the Outdoorsman is one of our best-selling bushcraft knives!) but myself I prefer the look/feel of the War Dog. It's just such an exceptional all-around camping and survival design, and we've really dialed that up to 11 with our take on it. We use heavy-duty 1/4" 5160 high carbon alloy steel, differentially heat-treated for toughness and durability, then finish with your choice of premium colored Cerakote finishes. (I prefer the Graphite Black myself. Just super badass! :)) Like the original, the narrow tang handle extends all the way through to the steel pommel for strength, and it comes with a hand-stitched sheath in durable 9-10oz leather in the K-Bar style.

Glad to answer any questions you might have.

John,

Order placed for the Outdoorsman Camp Knife.

I hemmed and hawed over which one. But in reality, if this one turns out like I think it will. I will be ordering another anyway.

I see a stabilized wood Damascus Huntsman in my future. That one is a looker. And that War Dog is right behind it. Man I want one of those.

The Outdoorsman just made more sense right now.

Many thanks to you, Barry, Lynn and all the other Dawson folks for offering up this special.

It will be nice to have a Dawson back on my hip!
Looking forward to the experience already.

Thanks, we appreciate your order Walt! You made a great choice with the Outdoorsman Camp. We'll get started on it right away!
