I found out about this company recently. Is it legit? I'm looking at the Holdout bowie; 8 inch full tang magnacut blade, seems like a cool blade, not too thrilled about the hollow grind nor the price though. Any of you got any experience with this brand?

Dawson Knives have been around since the 70’s. That said, I am sure there are fakes being sold, so you would be better off dealing directly with them.

I have a hollow ground Dawson Woodsman in magnacut. Great knife, excellent EXCELLENT PACKAGE. The kydex is perfect, the blade is beautifully ground and the design is exactly on point for its intended use. The box it comes in tells a little bit of the company history and ethos. They are expensive, but it is one of the very few knives I’ve ever bought that didn’t give me a little bit of post-purchase second guessing.

In short, get one- it’s worth it!

How do yall like their hollow grinds, are they super pronounced as Buck's or more subtle? Not sure how it'd end up being like on a chopper knife.

I've only got two of their smaller EDC-type knives, both of which feature a fantastic hollow grind. They slice well with thin edges and have a thick enough spine as to not be flimsy. I prefer the hollow grind on my Dawsons more than the grinds on my Bucks, but both firms do it well.

I've no experience with using their larger knives, so I'll have to defer to others.

I have always been into folders. Figured I should add a few fixed blades. Went to a local shop and the dealer told me about Dawson. He met them at a blade show and spoke highly of the people and the company.

Other than the 2 Dawson, I only have 2 fixed. One is a hand made from an uncle in Arkansas, from the 90's in, I'm assuming, D2. The other is a Buck 102 that was always on my hip as a kid in the 80's fishing at the camp in the Atchafalaya with family. That Buck was older than I am and I felt 10 feet tall with that and my Ruger single six.
