Here are a few pics from a day hike this past weekend. We had to practice our firemaking and cooking....

A bit of fatwood found just about anywhere in Southeastern US forests.

Awesome, My boys are 6 and 7 and really like it when I take them bird hunting and fishing with me. It is some of the best spent time that I could hope for. I am sure your boy will grow to be a good man.

Nice pics mate. The Bravo 1 is an exelent knife, I was using mine the other day while showing a mate how to use a fire steel. What knife does your boy have?

I am finding that I like the Bravo 1 about as much as anything else I have.
He took along the Scrapyard Dumpster mutt. It's smallish grip fits him well.

great pics.. thanks for sharing... i bet your son was enjoying every minute of it...

That's awesome. I have 3 kids (8-boy, 6-girl, and 2-boy) and am starting to get them outdoors a bit. The 8 year old in particular seem to enjoy it. Of course that could have something to do with the fact that he gets to use fire and knives ;)

Great stuff bro, days spent like that are priceless and will be remembered by your son for the rest of his life !!!

You really need to ditch that pathetic knife though bro and treat yourself to a Mora !!!

Hey I was only messin bro, given the choice between a Barkie and a Mora I'll go for the Barkie every time. For the money, however, Mora's are great and will put most other knives to shame when cutting stuff !
