day hike: hints of spring and scandi sweetness.

Great post JV, the greatest thing about it is, those knives are getting used:) Makes me all warm and fuzzy to see them kicking it lake side in such beautiful weather doing what they were designed to do, CUT THINGS !!!! :D

Thanks for the feedback on the grinds I'll have to bump up to the next grit on those Butter Fingers (aka: glorified butter knife with long handle:D ) to make it easier to push cut, although it may excel in cutting rope with a courser grind, dunno..

anyhow, DUDE!!!!! bring some of that ultra clear water out this way!! Only crystal clear water we have out here is in a glass:) (even that's questionable) also if you bring those knives out with your group, I'd like to see some shots of the Butter Finger under that water to see how easy it would be to locate if dropped, besides the cool factor I just want to see the water again:D

looks like an awesome trip planned, and a great time to use a fishing kit from your psk and even better time to try trigger fish traps and whatnot because by the looks of that place I think I could eat the fish raw..

Awesome pictures as usual and I agree whole hardheartedly it is nice to see things greening up !!!

take care...

I'm sure that's just young mountain laurel .Full size it's about 6' high .Lots of it around here - so they named one village Yulan - Chinese for Laurel !!

thanks, reuben. on our first overnighter, if we hiked past where we camped for another 20 minutes or so we would've ended up in that lake.
Was it frozen at the time of the year we were there?
Show it to me in October.

yes, it was frozen most likely since the lows were already in the teens during that time. there's an old cemetery across to remind us what can happen if it's not, haha.

will do...it's a good 10-mile loop.
