Daypack Replacement: Modern Possibles Bag?

When I carry it, it will be for my spare M4 mags and HK mags. A hippy bag or manpurse probably wouldn't look right slung over my tacvest and I might get granola in my mags. But it could easily be civilianized with a few colored pull tabs, maybe a small add on pouch (that doesn't look military), or even a button or two. A Chairman Mao button could make it look like the commie canvas bags all the hippies wear around town and on the trails.

It's about a foot long and will carry a nice survival kit, my fullsize HK, and a smaller backup with no problem. I have the extra mag pouches attached to the outside, so they could be removed for more discrete carry.

It doesn't look much different than the Maxpedition pack mentioned above for a fraction of the price. I wish it were available in something other than military colors, but it isn't.

Hard to beat the price. Really hard.

Mil Spec equipment is some grrrreat stuff ;) You'll enjoy it :)

They do have some good pouches for the money, but I have had several of the plastic buckles break. I replaced them with quality Kydex buckles and they have held up OK.

Thanks. I'll keep an eye out for it. This particular bag has no buckles except for a compression type strap that goes over the whole shebang. It won't take me out of business even if it does fail.

In hunting season, I carry a McAlister Field Accessory bag. I carry it with the weight across my lower bag with the strap going across my body. I like it because gear is easily accessible by sliding the bag to the front. The longest I've carried it though is only three miles, I even had a wool jacket attached to it with paracord. It never bothered me. At least not as much as lugging my heavy barreled wood stocked rifle.

I should add, I had a Maxpidition M5. I thought it was overbuilt with too many pockets, most unusable if any one loaded to capacity, and I hate velco, too noisy. I sold it and my new woods bag is German Army Bread bag $11 form Sportsman's Guide - light sturdy and just right for my survival pouch, a couple waters, powerbars and other nic-naks(sp?).

I have found that Oakley makes some excellent daypack and single shoulder bags. I have several of them and all of them hold up exceptionally well.

I can find one single shoulder bag (AP Sandbag) is that what you are referring to and have you tried it? What did you carry in it?
