Ysva, am I the only one, or are you reeling with potential jokes on this one?

Ben

Hell, I would
be Proud!!!! I don't think it's his imagination.;)

Ben, I'm reeling, but it's from the lack of protein and carbohydrates.
The jokes are coming from the delerium tremors often associated with alcohol addiction, but it's my food addiction instead!!!! :p

Breakfast consisted of...
2 cups puffed wheat, 100 calories, 5 1/2 ounces of strawberries, 45 calories and 6 ounces of skim milk, 60 calories, for a subtotal of 205 calories.

Lunch consisted of 10 ounces of cucumber, 40 calories, 9 1/2 ounces of tomato, 54 calories, 3 radishes at 1 1/2 ounces, 10 calories and 1/2 ounce jalapeno cheese for a subtotal of 161 which is a subtotal for today so far of 368 calories,
Oopsie, forgot my Fudgesickle, no sugar @ 90 cal's which makes it 456 total so far for today.
I'm allowed 1,000 calories a day so I have 544 calories to
go. :(

Only 84 1/2 pounds to go!!!! I'm rapidly gaining on my goal!!!!
Actually I think I may be loseing way too fast as I have been getting nauseaous sometimes on my diet.
The last two days I ate about 1500 calories and felt better and with still a half pound weight loss!!!!
I started out at 294 pounds on Tuesday, 4-29th-'03. That was 34 days ago and have lost 34 1/2 pounds!!!!
I first started on the Adkins Diet at 305 pounds a couple of months, I think it was, before that and lost down to the 294 pretty quick, but this diet is easier for me although it is very close to the same, except I don't get nearly the protein and none or little of the fat on the Adkins Diet.

And I was down to 259 1/2 this morning after the morning pee.:D

The Grand Total I have lost is 45 1/2 POUNDS!!!!!!!

I'm already feeling better with quite a lot more energy. An added benefit is the venous stasis I had in my legs is less than slowly going away!!!!
They're not nearly as red and flaky as they were even two weeks ago!!!!
The edema is still there and will be until I get to my goal weight and get the exercise level up enough to fix it.
The scientific medical doctors are right in saying that Congestive Heart Failure can be cured.
It just takes a great deal of motivation and wanting to. If I can get back to what I was even 7 years ago I will be satisfied, buit will continue on with my efforts.
When a man is forced to quit working he has to replace the work with some other kind of similar level of activity or wind up like I have.

I'm on a role and enjoying every minute of it except for not being able to eat what I want when I want.
I quit smoking a year ago last September, it's been 1 year, 6 months, 2 weeks, 3 days and about 25 minutes ago for a saving of $902.02 and have saved myself 6 weeks, 6 days, 22 hours and 37 minutes of my life, for whatever that's worth.;)
The problem is that I used food to help take the place of tobacco and that isn't good at all.

That's the opposite answer that Bruise would've given you had he of been writing this. :p ;)

Congratulations on the weight loss.

But I worry that the wooden khuk handles might soon have gnaw-marks. Low in calories, though.

WOW!!!

That's incredible. What kind of diet is that? I tried the Atkins diet and lost weight fast but my acid reflux became unbearable, so gave it up as lost cause.

Keep up the good work!!:D

Keep up the good work, Yvsa! Don't worry, the 1,000 calorie limit wont be forever. In the meantime, find a distraction that is so engrossing you wont have time for food.
And make it one that keeps you as mobile (or in motion) as your partially severed toe, heart, health, doc's orders, etc will physically allow. Work=consumption of energy, ya know? Ever see any articles about how much energy fidgeters burn just sitting in one spot?

As for the picture above, it reminds me of a Saturday Night Live Weekend News report:
"As for the reports of killer dope hitting the streets, Weekend News researchers have been studying the anonymously-sent samples of marijuana all week. So far they are able to report that if you give a baby squirrel the equivalent of 300 cannabis joints a day, he tends to take the laws of self-preservation less seriously, tending to play with his nuts rather than storing them."

Yvsa, I know how you feel. I've lost 50 pounds over the last year. However, it took me five months to find a doctor that said I wasn't getting enough nicotin. :D

Naw... I would have recommended adding tobacco leaves to your salads. :D ;)

Wow Yvsa, 34 pounds in 34 days:eek: Thats a pound a day, Id hate to be the poor person who had to use the can after you:eek:  :barf: :D :p That does sound real fast, what does your doctor think? A co-worker of mine went on a diet once, lost tons of weight, only to find out that the reason she was losing the weight so fast was because she was an un-diagnosed diabetic:( Though after my dad had a heart-attack he lost alot of weight fast as well, but his exercise regime was walking at least 5 days a week plus the lo-cal diet. What is you exercise program like? My aunt works in the Mayo Cardiac rehab dept., she says they are recommending a minimum of 30 mins of cardio, 5 days a week, and of course the more the better. From my own experience weight loss from diet alone is un-sustainable if not matched with proper exercise, both anerobic and aerobic. The nice thing, is that as you raise your metabolism, your calorie limit wont be as strict, but then you have to raise your metabolism in the first place. ;) Then again, doesnt it get easier the more you keep going.;) Keep up the good work.

Thanks everyone!!!! I'm really feeling good about myself.:)

Gin you can read all about the diet and how and why it works here.
I have a script for the Celexa, but due to the cost I'm only taking it every third day, along with the Aciphex for my GERD.
If I took the Celexa every day I might not have as much hunger as I do, but that's mostly easy to overcome with willpower and motivation.
Barb and I dug out some of my smaller clothes the other day and it wasn't too long ago I was marveling that I had ever been so small and I'm still marveling at the yet smaller clothes left to dig out when needed.
I get to my 175 pound goal weight or the 168 to 148 pounds the Dr wants to see me get to all of my clothes will be baggy, but I prefer them that way anyway.
Something I have learned while being really fat is that loose baggy clothes really do feel luxurious, at least to me.:D
When I get really skinny I might treat myself to one of those African Garbs that looks like a MuuMuu for men.
The only problem I have had with the diet is feeling nauseaous and being nauseaous, lost my whole dinner the other night.:grumpy:
Edit:
I "fixed" the nausea problem by eating some extra protein and carbohydrates in the form of deli roast beef and bread in the form of sandwiches that had all of the salad veggies included, mustard doesn't have any calories that one has to count :>), sure were good!!!! I ate 1,500 calories for two days and have been feeling much better, maybe I need to do that at intervals as I'm still learning all about this.
My diagnosis list reads like a hypochondriac's dream( !!!!:( ).....

Stills Disease and it's accompaning side effects like vasculitis and etc., Fibromyalgia, Degenerative bone Disease, Clinical Depression, Chronic Pain Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Congestive Heart Disease to date.
And now y'all know why I'm as crazy as I am.;)
Most of the dieases are in remission, the ones that can be, at the moment, which leaves me feeling really pretty good most of the time.

By the way, speaking of Rabbits and H-A-R-E-S did y'all hear....
about the rabbit who washed his THING and couldn't do a
HARE with it? :p

That came in from a dear friend who only lurks here and who has a sense of humor similar to most of us here.:D

Edited because of incomplete thought.

If I had the added tobacco leaves I might quit eatin' all together!!!!:D
Nicotine is a real appetite suppresant for me, and many others I understand.
I had quit smoking once before for 4 years and then one thing and another, mostly dealing with ndn ways, I got back to smoking. The immediate result was a weight loss due to not being as hungry. I would often smoke instead of eating something.
Nicotine is more addictive than heroin and/or cocaine!!!!:(

Update:
Went to the Dr this morning, woke up sicker 'en a dog, and found out that I have been losing the weight much too fast even for the Drs!!!!
The total weight loss for the last 14 days was 19 pounds!!!!
They cut me off the supplements for a couple of days and lowered th dosage to what it originally was.
I told the Dr I figured, the way I was going, that I would've been at my goal weight of 175 pounds in August, he said I was correct and that that was too dayumed fast!!!!
Lunch has corrected the nausea and now with a nap, didn't sllep good again last night, I will be good to go.

Gonna be gone for a few days so y'all have a good time while I'm gone. We're due to leave later today if the damned car ever gets outta the shop!!!!  :(
