DBK reviews Survive Knives GSO 5.1 Magnacut

I find it interesting that they can't process orders, yet are OEM'ing for a few others...

DBK review is annoying as hell. I'm saying it as someone younger than them. Their representation is forced comedy, or maybe because I like dry humour more. Their tests will always favour a certain type of knife, the thicker and heavier ones, which is not always the advantage. The speed that they release their videos makes me question about long term usage. Often intentionally missing the point of some products, because they don't align with the test they made.

I have the GSO-5 from 2013. Also, placed two new orders recently. I hope this waiting list thing isn't true. 😕
Don't worry. They've taken on more orders and have somehow fallen even more behind in the last few months. 🤪

I have been waiting a year for a 5.1 magnacut with no responses from last 3 emails. Hopeful, but certainly not going to hold my breath. I should have researched further before placing order.

They are making a model for Black Scout Survival called the BSS-5A.
Oh right, they've been putting his name on their stuff for a while. I've got a thrunite with that douchebag's name on it (very good ligth for the $ I paid). Not much of it hits the market just like the rest of survive's stuff.

I love DBK. I watch purely for sophomoric entertainment. I’m not too high brow to enjoy that stuff. Some of their knife reviews are useful, but when I really want to know, I just buy a knife and test it myself. I find most reviews to be pretty subjective anyway.

As for Survive!, I have a Vendetta 4 I’ve been waiting g on for over a year, even though it has said 1-3 months the whole time. Unfortunately, I hadn’t read up on the scamming until after I ordered. Oh well.

The Ka-Bar video was the most insane one. I use a classic 1217 and a 2217 for years, mostly knife tasks and some chopping and light battoning if I'm too lazy to get a hatchet. They hold up just fine, zero issues. Maybe because I don't hit them with a baseball bat.
Close second was the Strongarm review. It is, despite higher prices, still an amazing knife with a highly versatile sheath.

Giving a company like Survive! and their product such a positive view just fits the picture, at least for me.

I never heard of Survive knives until i saw DBK video. I was inlove at the first sight. (dint know about this forum either). So, I ordered 3 knives from them, 8 months ago. GSO 3.5, GSO 4.5 and GSO 5.1. I got my little GSO 3.5 3 months latter, and i got GSO8 (yes, I didnt even preorder it! found an instagram story where they announced they have few leftovers from the batch, contacted them, and got it right away), and those 2 knives (4.5 and 5.1) I never got, luckily got refund via paypal (after 6-7 months I guess) since I lost all contact with them in last 2-3 months, no reply to any of my email. So, I am very satisfied with those 2 knives that I got, but at the same time angry that I might got scamed that easily because I didnt check the background of the company. Latter i started to sniff arround and I found that long thread about them on this forum. Luckily I got my money back from paypal (it was time limit too, I got it in the "last train" I guess). So, all in all, I like the knives, but dont like the company how it treats its customers.

Here in the Netherlands these guys are seen as a couple of clowns, not as providers of any meaningful info.
For that purpose this forum and a few others are much better options.
