Congtatulations to Darrel on another cover feature with Blade Magazine. For those of you who have not handled a Gun Hammer, you will understand very quickly why it would be on the cover. It is not only a great looking but it handles like a dream.

Man I really like the gun hammer, but I just can't get past the little flowery flipper thing. That's probably a good thing for me though, not buying another knife I can't afford! :D
 
The gun hammer models may be my favorite folding knives out there. So if anyone has one they don't want feel free to send it me:D I'll pay for shipping
 
I haven't bought anything in a while but I did order a GunHammer MT as soon as I saw one. Awesome looking blades. Mine will have a damascus inlay.:thumbup: :thumbup: Should be here in 3 - 6 months.

yeah they are fantastic knives, my buddy has a diff one w/o the holes and a diff color micarta scale. The lockup is fantastic and my god does it get sharp, you dont feel the hair come off. I have edc'd mine I know it might be considered crazy but hay I love the knife and I love to use it and I'd be hard pressed to find a knife thats going to replace it. Darrel told me to use it and when it gets scuffed up and what not send it back and he'll clean her up and back to me she goes. So far its seen alot of action and when I get my pics back you guys will see some of it. If you can afford one I reccommend getting one, you wont regret it.
 
Thanks for posting the cover. Does anyone know if all gunhammers will be made with 154 CM or just the radien? I noticed that the website has the standard blade material being S30V.
 
In my opinion Darrel deserves to have one of his great designs on the cover of Blade. He is a class act, and his knives are outstanding.

Thanks for the good words.
The steel is CPM 154. It is powered metal from Crucible.
It is made the same way that CPM S30 V and the other CPM steels are made.

154 CM is made differently that the older 154CM. The new steel CPM 154 is very close to aircraft quality in purity wise. This makes for a great steel that can be mirror polished "in this case" . The stain resistance is very high also.
This steel in my testing takes a very fine carbon like aggressive edge. Lastly to touch the edge up is very easy.
I was totally impressed with this steel.

The cover was a total surprise to me.
I guess I am just lucky.
