Yikes!!! :eek:

I'm sure that Dan will fix you right up with a new one. Only you and Tim Tebow could break that knife.

:eek::eek::eek: WOW!!!

...Kinda looks like there was a fracture or small pocket of air running up the center of the blade horizontally, and you hit the not so sweet spot! ...Like 2 layers that didn't blend well. That's incredible! Glad that you didn't take a piece of shrapnel to the body. I've never seen anything like this before!

Wow that is messed up! It looks like spalling concrete almost. There must have been something wrong with that piece of bar stock, perhaps some imperfections from the foundry.

Nobody will ever loan me their knife now.

I am a marked man.

I HAD BETTER BUY MORE KNIVES AND STOCK UP!!!!

Oh, yes!

It is what we more technical professionals call "All Effed Up." :eek:

Sorry for that use of abusive professional jargon. :o

...I left the wood jammed in there on purpose, to prevent possible pantie-bunching.

I'd leave it as is, wood and all, and send it in that way... Jerry and the people at the foundry will probably want to really examine this knife to prevent future problems along these same lines. :thumbup: Still very glad that you weren't hurt by any of the pieces that flew off, or the knife itself. One or two more monster whacks and ya might have broken the blade in half! ...& NO, I won't loan you any of my knives, ya BEAST!!! LOL J/K ;)

It appears that Scrap Yard might have had one bad plate of steel with air pockets that were nearly dead center in the steel. . . No one's fault except for the steel mill who let it pass. . .

Just spoke with Dan and this is covered by the bullet proof Scrap Yard warranty, eventhough it is second hand and modified! :thumbup:

This IS NOT a Busse Combat blade and should be posted on the Scrap Yard forum.

Jerry :D

We need to see if Spark can set up a cross forum move thread feature. :D (Before you tech guys jump on me, I know it is probably not possible)
