Dead swamp critters and a few days camping and fishing at the beach.

I don't think it's a water moccasin. The head, especially the eyes look more water snake to me. I could be wrong. I'm no expert.
Correct, it's a Brown Water Snake. Looks a lot like a cottonmouth, but has round pupils rather than the slit like pupils of a moccasin. Also doesn't have the pits like a cotton mouth. They aren't venomous, but are aggressive when cornered, like this one in my kitchen, and pack a nasty bite due to the long teeth they have for holding fish and such.

Nice setup on the truck tent! I may have to look into something like that...

Thanks man, I really like it. Stood up well against the wind, I even left it on while I drove up the beach about three miles to get my friend from where he parked his vehicle. The aerobed took up the whole bed, except around the wheel wells. Still gives access to any cubby holes, or like mine, an AC inverter plug in the bed of the truck. It has a rain fly also, but I left it off for better ventilation. Wasn't hot even during the day, actually nice and shady with a good breeze blowing through.

Good stuff, dang nice shot on the moc. The last turtle I cleaned, I said never again, them things are a pain but good meat. Chris

Probably the hardest animal around here to clean. I'd rather process an alligator that a real big turtle.
