Deadest horse...

True. I resisted my first S & M sowbelly for months due to the steel (it would be great if they could use 154CM or ATS-34 for all their SS blades). However, in my limited use (I was cutting out valentine boxes with the sheepsfoot last night for example), it seems as adequate as the steel Case uses. Still, would love to see some better steel but that didn't stop me from ordering a second S & M (railsplitter) this weekend as they do make some choice knives.

If only Great Eastern offered as many patterns as Queen with more variations in handle jigging, I would be buying more GE as well. They make great, solid knives for the money with good steel but not a lot of choice in patterns, IMO.

Case/Bose and Victorinox have the spot for F+F, but I am happiest with the standard Case CV Line. They are inexpensive enough for most everybody, well made, thin edges (very important to me), great blade steel, F+F is great for most part (havn't gotten a bad one yet), very traditional patterns, and they are easy to find. I just got a new Texas Jack (6292) in today and I am again very impressed with the quality. It is probably my all time favorite pattern and knife....for now anyway.
