Deal Carefully with Micro Bevel
He agreed to purchase this Taz Rat on 9-11-11

as long as I could wait 9 days for the payment

I told him I would wait--AND DID SO:thumbup:

2 days ago I get a e-mail from his father that he is in jail and will be unable to purchase the knife AS ALL THE $ WAS TIED UP IN THE BAIL $

I then find out he had enouigh $ to order a Busse 11--see post #8 on 9-19-11
That was 1 day before he promised to pay me for the Taz Rat

It sucks that you guys couldn't complete a deal. However, I think it's worth mentioning that when you order from Busse, at least for Basic 10 LE purchases, payment isn't required until 8-12 weeks after the last day of ordering. That may give him the time he needs to get the money to fund his purchase...

I was told he was in jail--let when I track how often he has been on the forums it was the 19th-20-and TODAY as well

If someone tells you I have been in jail and you see I have been on the forums for the last 3 days---what would you think>???

Shit happens--Just admit it .

If I agree to buy a knife -I will SELL something else LONG before I break my word to one of you ...

and no I did not ship the knife off to him.
 
Point taken. I know it's frustrating when buyers back out...especially when you put an item on hold for such a long time.
 
That's what SPF is for. You cannot assume everyone is as honest as you are.
In fact if I were you I would delete this thread because IF he really wants to be an ass, he could sue for libel or defamation.
I know is a bit paranoid, but I have seen people get awarded tons of $ in damages for much less than what you posted.

Get in trouble how exactly? That is what this forum is for, to provide experiences on dealins with other members, good, bad, and ugly. This falls into the "ugly" catagory. No one likes flakers, especially when you try ans accomodate someone by waiting 9 days. Seems like a case of buyers remorse, too manyknives out there and not enough $ to go around. Dad sending an email? Odd.

maybe the review at the bottom stating the one was preffered over the other made him second guess. Although, "He bought it" but you never got paid and he backed out. He also said on impulse, perhaps thats along the lines of inebriated bidding on fleabay. Not what I would call buying though if you never got the cash. I dont know if this requires a GBU thread to this caliber, but it almost makes you want to know if Busse ever got his dime either. Better luck next time on the sale, seems like a sweet knife.
 
Next time someone asks you to hold a knife for more than 24 hours ask them to send you a non refundable deposit immediately of $50.00. If they are serious about buying your item that should not be a problem for them. If they refuse then move on to the next seller. Money talks, BS walks. I personally would not hold a knife for more than 24 hours for anyone unless I had done trades/sales with them before and they are a long time member with very good feedback. There are too many impulse buyers who like to respond "I'll take it"' immediately just to tie your item down and discourage other offers while they continue to shop around for a better deal.
 
Just wonderin, Has he personally contacted you with an apology or anything of the sort since he father contacted you?

I venture to say there is no risk of getting in trouble here. The whole point of this forum is to do exactly what the original poster did (I am a lawyer by the way)
