Dear Blade Forums,

I never thought I'd be writing to you about this happening to me...okay, wrong forum, but almost as good. I was strolling through a local Target, and decided to make my usual visit to the sporting goods aisles (occasionally good for a SAK clearance or two). There was a red clearance tag on the bottom Leatherman rack, and closer inspection revealed a blister-packed Surge with nylon sheath for...$28.98!!!!!

There were also Leatherman 301 knives for $17, Gerber Recoil tools for $19, and Vic Spartans packaged with a corkscrew (redundancy for sommeliers) for $13.

I still prefer my Swisstool and Spirit, but added one of the big boys to the collection. It was a pretty good week, after finding the lone remaining red bone Buck tin at Wally's (I got the Rangers early).

Run, don't walk, my brothers...

I didn't notice any sale on the Surges. At my local target, the Victorinox Recruit (no corkscrew or awl on the knife) was packed with a corkscrew for $9.99. They had a smaller Leatherman, colored handles (Juice IIRC?) for $15, Greatland SAK knockoffs and extremely cheap folding boxcutters for $2.50, and the 301 for $12.50. I only bought one of the 301's. I like it, more than I thought I would.

I recently checked and at my Target they had the Recruit/Corkscrew combo on sale and various Gerber knives on sale. They also had all maglights on sale.

Yesterday's visit saw a recruit/wine corkscrew thingie combination at $13.98, IIRC. Sometimes the price gets lowered, but you need to check the price in their aisle scanners first. This happens especially when it's the last one.

Surge was regular $80 price, had the Core on clearance for $40, Squirt was twenty-something, nada on the Vics. :(

Wow ! I have got to vist my Target store.

It varies from one store to another. I have seen different clearance prices on the same product at three Target stores in my area. Anyway, I was able to score a Core for $29, which I thought was a good deal, if not equal to the same price on a Surge Dogdad found.

Good luck where you are.

Yesterday, the local Target had a Gerber combo pack containing Mutiplier 600 series needlenose and single AAA Sonic led light and sheath for the tool. Price was 22.48.

Today's visit: $4.98. I bought 2 :D

Yesterday's haul for me: Camper with LED coin light, $12.97. Economy Recruits with AAA Maglite was $12.97 also.

All my multitools acquired over a ten year period have been post-season blowouts.

Last weekend, a round of four local Target stores confirmed that the knife/multitool clearances here are about done. Due to circumstances I got off to a late start, but still managed to pick up 3 Cores for $29 each and a $15 Squirt P4. One Core stays with me, the rest will go out as gifts.

Well, it's cute as a bug, so maybe I'll hang on to the P4, as well. :)

The local Target is selling off combination gift sets of a Leatherman Fuse multitool/ nylon sheath and Stanley 18 ounce mug for $12.48.

The original $49.99 price tag was way too high. The mug is fairly low quality and I am a little disappointed with the Fuse, but it is a good deal overall.

Nice to know I'm not the only guy cruising Target looking for deals. I really oughta start selling some of these things on ebay.

got a car stereo/ mp3 player for 15 bucks this fall! gotta love the Target clearance deals.

Got a Leatherman Core for $14 today at Target.

There are still a few deals left at some Targets. :D
