Deal or no deal

My first thought was will it do the job you want for $150.
Second was it looked on the cheap side.
For my application it would be no deal.:thumbdn:

An regular plug in type with the same make up could be good but I don't believe a cordless model will handle the work load in the shop. Great warranty on their stuff. Frank

Great price, but most of us have a garage full of wrong tools we got at the right price.

Something like this would be way more useful.

Rob!

Thanks guys, that helped me make up my mind. At first glance, I thought why not but as I looked at it more and read the replies here it clinched the deal. I will trudge along with my jigsaw until I can afford something better. Rob, there is a busy bee right up the road from me but the price is just a little past me right now. Cheers guys. :-)

I agree cordless will not have near the power you will need to cut steel. You would be far better off for lesser money to buy a plug in portable bandsaw the same size and using that.
Chris

Unfortunetly this is the lowest price I have been able to find, plug in or portable. The busy bee one that Rob posted is 279 on sale and thats the cheapest one so far. No worries, I have made it this long without one, I can wait a little longer.

hmmm a quick edit, I just found this http://www.princessauto.com/shop-ga...al-cutting-equipment/8106783-portable-bandsaw . I realize it is a relative no name brand but it looks somewhat promising.

That looks like a comparable quality to the Harbor Freight one. The HF one sells for a bit less though :( Unfortunate you being in Canada and all.
