I was hard up for cash so I put some knives up for sale. I had let my Gold Membership here at BFC run out, so I posted them everywhere else. I got an email through Glocktalk with a trade offer for my LCC DA - a large classic Sebenza. That got me excited (even though I really didn’t want to do any trades) because it’s such a good deal. The email was from a member called “It’s Just Me.” Since I’d never heard of such a forumite, I did a search and, within ten minutes, was pretty sure that this was our very own TTO/Dennis Sweetser. I felt let down, a great deal impossible because the offer was made by a known troll/liar/POS. Anyway, I emailed a few forumites who are more involved with this case, had IM conversations with a few forumites, and emailed TTO back to say that, since he was such a new member of GT, I would need him to ship the Sebenza first. He agreed. No mention so far of his real identity. I had more conversations with several very helpful forumites and none of us could really figure out a way TTO could screw me if he shipped first, I received and examined his knife, and then I sent mine if his was acceptable. So we went through with it, and he shipped as promised. I gotta admit, I was more surprised that the Sebenza showed up than I would have been if it hadn’t. So I sent him the LCC, he emailed to confirm that it was a done deal. I’m happy with my new Sebenza, and I’m happy I got such a good deal. I don’t really have any complaints about how this transaction went.

Understanding that TTO did stick to his word on this deal, he’s backed out on other deals with other forumites, and has proven to be a pathological liar. I did not, do not, and will not trust him as far as I can throw him, and I recommend you not trust him either. I am also of the opinion that he should be rebanned everywhere everytime he registers, because he’s a PITA and not a good forumite at all. If you decide to deal with him, doublecheck to make sure that all your bases are covered and there’s no way at all that he can screw you, because I wouldn’t put anything past him. Also make sure you know who you’re dealing with before you enter into any deals at all. If you know someone’s been around here for years, you can be pretty sure you’re safe, since most forumites are good, honest people, but any idiot can register here or elsewhere, so do your homework.

FYI, he has also registered here as Flieger and has already traded the LCC I sent him less than a week ago, see this thread: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=217367

I feel it was inappropriate for him to post all of our emails. Private emails should remain private unless there is a compelling reason to post them, which there wasn’t. All the “proof” he needed would have been a confirmation by me that the deal did take place. At least he had the decency to edit out phone #’s and addresses, even if he did misspell my username. When he emailed and asked for my phone number, I wrote back saying that I’d rather handle all communication through email. He looked up my # and emailed it to me. What can I do? I’m listed. Usually I don’t have any problems with exchanging phone numbers when conducting a trade, but there are some people you don’t want to give any more information to than necessary, ya know? Haven’t had any problems, though.

I guess that’s all I have to say about this, but if anyone has any questions I’ll try to answer.

Thanks for clarifying that, Jason. I'm locking this thread just to minimize the temptation to feed the troll.
