That is light! The pommel looks quite heavy, too. Given the kind of khukuris Sgt. Khadka likes to make, I'll bet that one is just about the ultimate martial arts blade of any kind!

Now that's sharkin'

Now that's sharkin'.

Yep. I even had to sign into my e-mail account from work, which I absolutely hate doing.

Hm, I didn't even notice it had a decorative scabbard, very nice. I just saw "18 inch, 15 ounce, Sgt. Khadka," and I knew it had to be mine.

I need more money. I have the feeling that I'm going to absolutely need a Sgt. Khadka Super CAK once I see how this one feels in hand. But my special ordered Dukti sword was also in this shipment, and those two blades have pretty much dried out my disposable income for awhile. :(

Well, I can't be that unhappy, with two new HIs on the way. Something is telling me that these two will be the lightest and most agile blades to come out of Nepal in quite awhile!

As much as I love my jungle knife, it mates perfectly with some rifles, I do believe it needs a little more metal in the choil area. For it to rotate in the hand properly during the swing, the fingers have to make contact with the blade.
I was thinking something like this might be safer and more comfortable than the present design.

Wrap your pinky finger around the backside of the handle, your ring finger where the handle dips down toward the butt. That'll keep your hand in place when chopping.

Thank you Yangdu, what a pleasant surprise: Yvsa's Baby Cherokee Rose's handle mated to a longer D-10 blade. Bet it handles as good as it looks! Can't wait to find out!:D

the "D-10 Rose": another one for me to write up.

In fact, this is the first time I've heard of a "D" model beyond 2 or so!

The '10' refers to the blade length in inches; I had asked Yangdu to have a custom blade made in October last year which combined the guard/handle design of Yvsa's Baby Cherokee Rose mated to a 10inch long 'D' style blade.

Shortly after ordering the knife which Yangdu and myself decided to call the D1-10 Rose to acknowledge its origins, I made several other purchases and decided not to proceed with the custom knife, and thought that was the end of the idea.

So you can imagine my surprise and delight upon seeing the 'project' completed and in a dotd thread and it still being unsold. Needless to say I emailed immediately and Yangdu has confirmed it is mine. :D

Hopes this helps background its history.

First off, congrats on sharking that Sgt K Chainpuri! It's a departure from what the good sergeant usually forges and it's one of the most elegant khukuris I've ever seen. I'm impressed even more by the man's talent and this chainpuri shows he also has a knack for diversifying his repertoire. I bet that one will be supersonic fast and a deadly fighting khukuri for sure!

Second of all, yes, you do need a Sgt K Super CAK. I still believe it is the ultimate khukuri. Imagine a 20" CAK which balances and feels more like a 20" Sirupati and you get the idea. Yes indeed.
