A YCS for 175!!
Guys, jump on it. Kumar makes a fine YCS. Truly could be the knife for a one knife guy (well three knives;)).

Jake

That's too cool. An HI Smatchet. That Trisul is sweet too. Long, pointy and carved handle to boot.

Steve

A carved trisul?!?!? Nice. Somebody grab that and put me out of misery.
That one is longer than normal too, isn't it? dont they normaly go around 14"?

Some quality work here, folks. I'd love that YCS. Maybe one day....To me the WWII stands out though....dunno why, just looks like superb work.

But a carved trisul and a beastly New Model as well...darn, sharking is good these days :D

Oh, Damn! I hate being broke, but then again I'm broke because I wasted (I mean invested!) all of my money on/in knives!

Standard Trisul is about 14" and 11-12 oz, and here we have an 18" one! And a one of kind smatchet by a great Kami. Now what could I sell/trade???

Norm

You know, that Trisul would sell all day at a $15/$20 premium with that great handle at the standard 14" 11 oz. configuration. Carved handles look better and feel better to my hand to boot.

But if you are a Tennessee mountain boy and you want to hunt pigs or bears the old fashioned way, that big Trisul here will do the trick! :D

Norm

P.S. You know I could swear I have seen that smatchet type offered before. Maybe last year?

That giant lawn spade!!! Oh My Gosh.

New models all the time. The kamis are exploring. This is so....just great.

Just when you think that you've seen everything, ! goes and makes a smatchet.

I'm thinking hard about this one. Someone buy it so I don't have to.

Ohh come on Dave, you know you want it. And besides, aren't you curious to see what it's temper is like?

mike

Cool!!!!
A Mini Manjushree !!!

I want it like crazy, but I cant afford it at that price. Is the price high because its new or is it special in some other way ?
Man, if it were half of that, I would have already bought it.
Its awesome, I love it. More please!

Well, as for 'high price'; most times we are lucky here to get special sales and blems at greatly reduced prices. Often these items have minor cosmetic flaws. If you look at the regular prices for many of the more involved blades from HI, they push upwards from 150 on. Hanuman, UBE, AK Bowie... If we see a 'perfect' one of a kind, why shouldn't it command a realistic price?

Email sent of the 18 inch 32 ounce new (model?) by Exclamation Kami, Chandan wood handle, Awsome rig, $195 YBB.
I call it a smatchet, also.

Some quick research shows that the HI smatchet is about 2" longer and 10-20 ounces heavier than most of the interpretations floating around. It's worth noting that this seems to be the only one (outside of custom deals) that's not made of 440 or AUS6.

As far as price, what Munk said. Also, I've noticed that when a one-of-a-kind becomes an occasional offering, the price seems to drop a bit. Regardless, $195 seems more than fair, especially considering what the stainless production models are going for.

JWK, I was about to hit "Send" in Outlook when I noticed your post - I actually considered racing you for it. ;) Enjoy your smatchet and be sure to tell us how it works for you.

Well I paid 195$ for the full sized manjushree sword.
This one looks like it would require less materials and work, does it not?

That YCS is fantastic, by the way.

I love them double edged blades.
I don't know if I got it yet or not. Yangdu has not emailed me back letting me know if it is a done deal or not.
If I get this one, it will be the first smatchet that I own.
If I don't get it and someone else does get it, I hope that it makes them happy.

So nice to see the YCS back in the specials. That WWII is a good looking one too.
