Smh, I don't know if it was you or not that sent payment for the Gelbu. There have been plenty times where I missed sending the email 1st & could've sent payment & cut somebodies throat on a dotd. From my understanding you don't send paymment until you get a response from Yangdu. So being i was the 1st to send an email Re: this dotd item it doesn't mattter & I lose out because somebody decided to not honor the rules & sent a payment before Yangdu even let them know if they were 1st to inquire about this particular item. Yea I'm a little upset but its a feeling & I'll get over it.

I'm confused by your posts. Are you under the impression that someone has snatched the knife out of your grasp? If so e-mail Auntie and ask her to clarify what is going on. I believe you got the knife shown in the post and Joekido was fortunate enough to get a similar blade.

PS. You need to be aware Auntie is a busy lady and doesn't just sit at the computer waiting for e-mails so it may be several hours before she replies.

I received an email from Auntie statting that "I'm sorry someone sent payment for the gelbu" so she has to ship it to them. So I missed out on thos particular blade, last night when I was sleeping I received. An email from auntie basically telling me what shipping cost would have been. I replied saying I would send payment later 2 day as I'm on my blackberry now at a truck stop, as I drive trucks for work. About 2 hours ago I received an email saying someone else sent payment. I'm pretty sure Yangdu isn't going to tell 2 people they won dibs on the same khukuri.

I don't understand what really happen & wanted to speak up, because if somebody decided to send payment without response from Yangdu saying to send payment, that's wrong & unfair to the H.I. Community

I just did my first HI order in some time and was a bit confused myself about the new ordering and payment procedures. There is a post by Karda explaining the process at http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=735020 and that links to http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=198282, but it does not go into detail about ordering/payment conflicts like this. Let's wait until Yangdu or Karda weigh in on the best ordering procedures. I can see this being a problem if multiple people start sending in payments on one item, so we had better let the business folks set us straight on the best way to do things.

paulie, you should speak up. If you got an email from Yangdu with shipping costs then you were indeed the first email. Getting a payment from someone else doesn't make it theirs...Yangdu can always shoot it back to them. Of course, Yandgdu is running HI and can do whatever she likes. She has had a recent run of people sending first emails and then backing out of the purchase, and perhaps she wasn't sure on your purchase. She should have waited and given you a chance to respond with payment today and not pull it out from under you IMO. If you can, you should call her and talk to her about this-hopefully before she gets to the Post Office. Yes call her. She doesn't sit around reading the Forum all the time.

Sorry this happened to you paulie. It needs to be worked out though. It just doesn't sound like Yangdu to send you a confirmation email and then tell you she has to send it to someone else.

The general rule of thumb is.....customer sends email for item wanted, forum name, name, address and intended method of payment. Then customer waits for Auntie to Respond before sending payment. Auntie Yangdu will respond with either an email stating the item is yours and give you a invoice for the total cost including shipping.......OR.... She sends you an email telling you the item is already sold. Auntie tries to be as fair as she can be about the sales, If anyone has problems or questions, Please contact Auntie so that any issues can be resolved.

IF, and that's the key word, this happened as it appears to have happened, then this deal needs to be backed up a notch or two.

If dirtypaulie gets today's GS that should be a fair resolution as it looks like a beautiful specimen.

Hello everybody: I had a 12 & a 1/2hr wrk day 2day. Dealing with customs at jfk & imported art to be delivered.

Aside from that this is what happen from my perspective: I sent my initial e-mail re: the khuk 9:32pm est. I placed a post in this thread immediately after I sent email as that is my standardized procedure. The email that was sent to me from Auntie said "Done deal Paul" & the email also had the shipping cost, it was time stamped at 6:35pm pst my gmail account received it 10:50pm est. I have all the corresponding email with time stamps saved in my gmail & could take screen shots to post & prove. I just don't want this happening to any of my fellow forumites. I know life is unfair but the level of disappointment that sets in your stomach is nerve racking. You think you got something then get stripped of it. I felt it very necessary to bring this up so it can be addressed & won't happen to any body else. People need to know not to send payment prior to getting a ok response from Yangdu.

I spoke with Auntie. Her & I will work something out. Everything happens for a reason that is my belief, we just don't exactly know why at the point when it 1st happens. Peace & blessings to all.

Sincerely,
Paul Davidson

Glad you enjoy it but I'm guessing you don't have anything else to say because you haven't read a lot of the other posts in this thread, huh?

Sorry for the post Pualie...and about the mix up...I just figured they were two of em....I think I am the one that received the khurki....sorry about your lose.

sincerely

Joe

Paulie do you want it...I will let you have it, if you so desire..I like it..but you can have it. I can use the extra dollars anyway...let me know and we can set something set-up...oh yes...I don't read all the posts....I really didn't read the posts until after I posted...I was excited...didn't mean to hurt your feelings...Joe

My feeling aren't hurt & if you were not intentionally trying to get over that's cool. either way I forgive you. I just wanted to bring it up so this type of thing doesn't happen to anybody else. The dotd items are what they are 1 of a kind as are all h.i. Khuks. Auntie & i will work something out. She has to wait for another shipment that has Gelbu's

Easy there guys......
I think Joe was just excited at his new blade...we all get that way.
I'm sure Joe or Auntie didnt mean to hurt or offend anyone. It was probably a case of Joe paid, so Auntie felt she had to sell it to him. Everyone makes mistakes. There will be other khukuri. One can always ask auntie if she can get one in just like it.
