Deals for 2/28 --Pix and Dharan Khukuris with Cammo Covers

Sometimes craft stores will carry leather scraps, which can be quite big, nice, and they sell by the lb. Also, any sort of cowboy boot store may have them also, especially if they do custom boots.

edit: BTW I should clarify to say "local" craft stores, not, places like Hancock, Jo-Anns, A.C. Moore etc (not that I've seen atleast).

Really nice, and wish I could have snagged a "mid-sized" tin chirra at about 16.5" like that first one. Can't speak for the last few years but in the past that size Tin Chirra wasn't seen too often.

One note: see how the top of the pommel is a bit flatter than the bottom? This is a good improvement that I have done on several of mine, that works best for folks with larger hands. Otherwise that back top hump really hurts your hand when you swing, especially if it's a shorter handle.

If you have small hands the "double" hump will work for you, but otherwise this is a good improvement.

Jim, these camo covers look fantastic; really nice work!

I rounded of the top and refinished the handles. This mod gives a more comfertable grip
I did this for some of the guys that were depolying. There is nothing worse than having
that top point spear you.
I fixed one up for my daughter who deployed for afganistan yesterday. Her name is kami
and these blades were donated to help the kamies of HI through the rough times.

Jim, here's wishing your daughter the best of fortunes during her deployment.

Her name is kami

Inspirational. Those Camo sheath will be very sentimental to her.

I believe the Kamis will be very honored as well.

I wish her all the luck she needs abroad.

Oh yes i pm'ed you Jim.

Thanks

Jay

Just got the R-6. It is a neat little; by HI standards anyway; knife. Love the sheath. It will make a great EDC.

...The marine desert camo is hard to come by. It is unusal in that the marine corps emblim is imbeded in the material at various places. This assures you that it is the marine desert pattern.

Aren't there any Marines out there who could put this knife to good use?
(looks like it's still available).

Note that the Marines knife is bigger than the Air Force and Army knives.:D

Thank you, Jim and Yangdu! The fit and finish of the blade is well up to HI standards and the comfort of the handle is unsurpassed. Makes me want to round off the top bells of all my kuks now, but I can't pick a guinea pig for fear of ruining it. One of these days, maybe, with the appropriate tools...
