Deals for 3/19 -- Pix, Tarwar, Villager and Usual Steals

It's a hidden tang, but very stout. You could also probably ask Yangdu to have the Kamis make you one with a chiruwa (full) tang if that's more to your taste.

I have had my tarwar for only 2 days and I LOVE it! This afternoon I waded through a small grove of tallow trees with that bad boy and it was great! Slashing and hacking and.........

I've been carrying the Mystery Bowie when I walk the dogs after work. Its near 16 inches. I'm hacking down the spring growth before the brush gets a foothold on the creek bank. Yesterday I was questioned by some nervous folks about why I have such a huge blade strapped to my side. I have a feeling that they would just call the police if they saw me with a Tarwar....

UD: That Mystery Bowie is realllly kewl! Definately heavy duty. If they were nervous about that, they would no doubt short smooth out over the sight of a Tarwar.

The tarwar has the standard hidden tang, but at the guard it is at least half as wide as the blade, maybe closer to 2/3 as wide (at least on mine).

From what I have observed on H.I. pieces, they make the tangs really wide and they're tapered drastically down to a point where they are peened at the pommel area.

With this stout geometry, a full scale tang is really unnecessary. Of course it is stronger but how strong does it really need to be? I've never broken an internal tang. The benefit you get from the full chiruwa tang would be extra steel in the hilt, shifting the balance more into your hand than at the end of the blade, if that's what you are looking for.

Its a full half-inch at the spine.... kind of a hatchet/cleaver/knife sorta thing...

Hey... we gotta get that generator for the kamis. Money is getting tighter here in the States & that is being felt all over the globe. I'm feeling the pinch & spreading out a bit thin (still owe Steve for the Ram tuition thingie). If the JKM is still here after I pay my bill, I can probably spring for that as well (somebody please shark it soon!)
