Deals for 3/23 -- Pix, HI Bancharo and more great buys

More firsts as always! First red leather on a karambit that I know of. First CAK by Khadka, first with 3 pins, and his first with a habaki. The handle on that CAK is _perfect!_ I can just feel it in my palm now. :D I love the walnut wood he has been using for his knives over the last year. It's like he has his own private stash of it or something, as it always has great grain to it.

You know how Uncle Bill would always offer to give 2 in return if you broke one, well that one looks just amazingly strong to me.

Could not have afforded it, but wish I had been able to. Really nice work. I think this is also only the second 20" CAK made. (As always I could be wrong on everything. ;) )

Sorry for pointing out minutiae. Can't help it. :o

Cool axe as well. If the handle were just a bit longer I think it might work better. Just 3-4 inches?

I really like this Ang Khola, but.. The first thing I'm going to do is take off that handle and put on a stick tang handle.

Then I'll grind a new profile on the blade.

Also, thin out the blade a little to make it lighter.

Oh, and that polished finish needs to go.

:)

Eric.

It's funny. Bigjim started a whole thread on how he would buy as many Bancharo axes as HI could put out (paraphrasing). Now he's left the fold.

Eric, don't even friggin' JOKE about that OK?!

Reminds me of the guy I bought my 7.5" Old Model Ruger (3-screw) from years ago. He was going to cut down the barrel and grind the dragoon style grip frame from square to round and stick some crappy rubber grips on it. I got it from him and felt like I had rescued a child from an abusive parent.

Besides, I fly out to Dell in Austin periodically. Don't make me look you up! ;)

I have a 20" AK as well Billy, but I meant a Chiruwa AK. But maybe I'm missing something. Are yours Chiruwas? Only other one I know of was BigJim's kapur wood handled one by Bura from the 10/26 deals. It ran very light at only 31 oz. The only problem with a CAK this size is the weight. However my 20" by Amtrak runs 35 oz., so 1 oz. more for a bulletproof handle is one hell of a deal.

The more I look at this guy, the more I want one!

I'm sick! Heeelllp meee.....

I am almost in tears for missing that Kerambit... didn't get on the forums till now. :(

Chandan ones are a bear to get. They just don't last that long. I have a few, but chandan is not one of them.

Looks like it might need alittle more of a hook to open bottles. I'll let you know.

The Jure hook will remove bottlecaps. When the cap comes off, the blade comes down, and where will your fingers be?

Do not use the hook to remove bottlecaps. Just trust me on this one, okay? ;)

(I would include a pic of why this is a bad idea, but the scar doesn't photograph well.)

Man, what awesome offerings today. I can't believe I missed it. Hope there are more unique items available in the days to come.

Hi Norm,

No 20" Chiruwa AK's here. I do have a Satistal Kerambit on the way though. Can't wait to get my paws on it!

dang dang dang - had to go into the office today, and we all left in a hustled out fashion... had i only PEEKED at the BF today, i would have had a 2 hours window at LEAST and this would be mine. crap on a stick :> on the other hand, they should be finally cutting a check for my billable hours. yay hours. yay money.

better take care of that AK or ELSE :> i'll be coming for it. one of these days, i'll get one.

i'm sure i would've missed the kerambit even if i was being a shark, but the AK WOULD have been mine mine mine. mmm, that reminds me, i supposed to be on yangdu's kerambit list... mmm...

the rest of the offerings are fantastic too. i think today is one of the "email on all" would have worked out well for someone.

in OTHER news, while this DOD went up, i was in a martial arts store buying a white wood staff - longer than i'd need - i figure i can sacrifice 6 inches of it, and have some material for a knife handle - that is PRETTY stuff. perfectly made 6 foot staff ran about $25. not terrible. bought something else shiny and metal too ;> no edge. mmmMMmmm :>

Went back and looked at the pics, you're lucky you can still count to ten. Anyone etched one of these?

Food etch on mine. It appears that the belly is dipped into the water, rather than having the water poured on it. I ought to take a pic of it...it's kind of an interesting look.

That is one of the most outstanding Ang Khola's I have ever seen. Appears to be a near perfect length, diameter, and shaped handle.

My thoughts exactly. The handle really looks too short for my tastes.
